The Black Knights Base

Kevin approached the front door to the base, holding an invitation from the group's founder. He had received it a couple days ago, but hadn't have time to come yet. Until today, of course. He knocked lightly on the door, stretching, allowing his back to crack.

"Now, we play the waiting game." He said quietly to himself. He was looking forward to meeting his teammates. His hands rest in his pockets, his posture tilted slightly back for comfort. A very relaxed way to stand, especially when you were a little nervous.

Ai heard knocking at the door and went to see who it was. She opened the door and saw a young man there. "Hello. How can I help you" Ai asked smiling. Ai noticed the invitation the man was holding and smiled. "Oh, are you interested in joining my team" Ai asked.

"I'm Ai Otome, founder of this team" Ai said introducing herself. She smiled sweetly and waited for the young man to say something. She wondered what kind of zoid he piloted. From where they were you could see the shield liger; piloted by Ai and liger zero; piloted by Moto. She patiently waited for the young man to speak and looked at him warmly. "Oh, where are my manners? Please come in" Ai said holding the door opened for the young man and waited for him to enter the building.

Kevin smiled at Ai as she spoke. "My name is Kevin O'Brien. I"m honored to meet you. Oh, and yes, I am interested in joining your team. I'm confident that together we can make all of our endeavors go swimmingly." He said quietly in his soft and calm voice.

He stepped inside behind her, being sure to close the door behind him. He took the chance to take a quick glance around the base, taking in all of the immediate surroundings. "Thank you, for welcoming me into your home. It looks lovely." He said politely, bowing his head towards her respectfully.

Once they were done unpacking his things, Moto and Ai both heard a knock at the door, and Ai went to investigate while he get some clothes on. His swim trunks were already dry enough for him to walk around in, and he heard her and the new person talking at the door. Exiting his room and going to see who it was, he was close enough to hear them introducing themselves to each other. Once near the front door, he saw it was a man who was interested in joining their team.

"Motozai Toramizu," he said to the man who had just arrived and held out his hand to shake hands with him, seeing that he already met her before he ever arrived. "See Ai? You've already gotten another member on your team," he said smiling at her before stepping next to her looking at Kevin smiling at him as well.

"Pleasure to meet you Kevin" Ai said sweetly. She followed him inside and smiled when he complemented the barracks. "Thank you and it's your home now as well" Ai said smiling. That was her way of telling Kevin he was now part of the team. Kevin seemed like a polite person and Ai respected that.

"Well, you have your choice of any room except mine of course" Ai said smiling. She laughed a bit at her own joke. It wasn't that funny but she liked it enough. Ai got some drinks from the fridge and passed them out. "Here's to a bright future as a team" Ai said raising up her drink. She was happy to have another member on her team and thought that was a good reason for a toast.

Kevin smiled at Moto as he outstretched his hand. He simply bowed his head slightly, taking his hand and shaking it. "Its a pleasure to meet you as well, Moto." He couldn't help but smile at Ai's comment. It had been a while since he had felt like he really belonged anywhere other than a garage.

He glanced at the glass that was now in his hand, then to Ai and her toast He raised his glass, and smiled slightly, tilting his head slightly to the side. "To long and successful lives for each of us." He said politely, glancing at the clock. He only had so long before he needed to continue working on his latest design. As of the moment, he was zoidless.

Hearing all the formalities, Moto wondered what kind of person this new guy was and how helpful he would be. If anything, he was just glad that someone else had joined their team and now they were starting to get numbers. Following the group to the kitchen, she got drinks out for everyone, one for each out of the refridgerator. Taking his, he toasted with them as well but remained silent but smiling at them and drank his.

After putting his glass down, he wiped his face off clean so nothing was left on it and washed his hands. "I'm going back to the pool now, either of you wanna join me?" he asked them as he waited for their answer. Walking towards the pool, he took off his shirt since he was still in his swim trunks and got in the hot tub first.

Hearing Moto's question Ai thought for a moment. "Well what would you like to do Kevin" Ai asked. She wanted to be nice to every one. Ai looked at Moto who had already left for the pool. Ai pondered on weather to follow him or not but decided to wait until she knew what Kevin wanted to do.

Ai finished her drink and put it in the recycling. "If you need help with anything just ask ok Kevin" Ai said smiling. She wanted to help out her teammates and couldn't show favorites just because Moto was her boyfriend. Ai needed to be a fair captain and she needed to show she was capable of being a good leader. Ai waited to hear Kevin's response to her earlier question.

Kevin finished his drink, watching Moto take off towards the hot tub. His eyes caught the disrobing, but he thought nothing of it. He saw Ai looking at him, something in the way she did it, didn't quite sit right with him. "What would I like to do?" He reiterated, thinking for a moment before smiling as he returning the glance.

"So, you an item?" He asked with a quiet chuckle, shaking his head. With a quick glance to his watch then returning his gaze to her, he spoke again. "Its quite alright. Go and do as you please, I have some work that needs tending to anyway. Enjoy yourselves." He said softly, his accent almost seeming to become more apparent. He tired of trying to hide the accent. He began to turn, making his way to where he would be staying. He needed to finish this new design, preferably within the next little while.

Staying in the hot tub, Moto wondered what Kevin would be doing now that he was a part of a team. He also wondered why he always looked at his watch to see what time it was, but brushed it off and began relaxing. Nothing in the world could break his meditative state that he was in currently while in the hot tub. Wondering if Kevin would come, he also wondered if Ai would come as well so they could all enjoy it.

"An item? Is it that obvious" Ai asked blushing a little bit. Ai went to the pool area and sat down in a chair. She saw Moto and sat in a chair near him. She sighed a bit, closed her eyes and started to relax. The pool area was perfect for relaxing since it was nice and quiet.

"Kevin said he had work to tend to" Ai said. She was a little disappointed that Kevin didn't come. She wanted all of them to get to know each other better. What was the point of being a team if you didn't know each other? Strengths, weaknesses, pride, these were things teammates shared but if you didn't know your teammates then that knowledge didn't matter. Ai kept her eyes closed and just relaxed while thinking.

Kevin spent a few brief moments looking over his documents. He could hear the water in the hot tub, its slow and fluid motions. He sighed softly and closed the folder, standing up, making his way back to the group. He cracked his neck as he walked, loosening his tie as he turned around and tossed it aside.

After a quiet groan and a stretch, his muscles felt a lot better. He stopped and thought for a moment, shaking away his thoughts, he began making his way again. He stopped just short of them and smiled his usual smile. "Mind if I join you two? I could use some relaxation." He asked quietly, a slight smile still on his face.

Hearing footsteps, Moto wondered who it was so he looked in the direction they were coming from, it was Ai. A smile came over his face as he returned to staring at the ceiling with his eyes closed for the time being. "Kevin said he had work to tend to" she said as he watched her take a seat and wondered what got her so down about whatever it was that she was thinking about, which was most likely bonding with the new guy.

"Let him do what he wants for now, he'll come around soon enough," he said confidently that he would show up. In a few moments, what he said actually came true and Kevin showed up asking to join them. "Mind if I join you two? I could use some relaxation." he asked them with a smile on his face, and he didn't see why not. "Sure, no reason you can't join us. This is your home too ya know? Besides I think Ai wants to ask you some questions to get to know you," he said to him.

Ai was happy when Kevin arrived in the pool area. Ai heard Moto speak and spoke up as well. "Exactly, this is your home as well" Ai said happily. She heard the second part of what Moto said and looked at him. "Can you read minds? It's true I wanted everybody to get to know each other but I'm not going to pry into other people's lives" Ai said.

Ai did want to know more about her teammates but prying into other people's lives was something she was not going to do. Sure Ai was curious about her teammate's pasts, and abilities but she figured that they'd talk about when they wanted to and not before. Ai got comfortable in her chair and smiled as she looked around. It was so beautiful and she never got tired of the view. Today was great, a new base, two team members, and a nice relaxing time at the pools.

Letting the warm water soak away his troubles, Moto wondered what he would do now that he was a part of the group. Closing his eyes, he just sank lower into the hot tub to relax more now that the world was tranquil at least to him. Then he heard him say something that bewildered him after he asked if he could relax. "I just remembered, I have to do something," Kevin said, but Moto didn't know what he did because he was relaxing.

"What should we do for the rest of the day baby?" he asked Ai wondering what they would do. Not wanting to move though, he wanted to stay there and relax for the time being, wanting to sleep there.
