THIS is Ree. Believe me, you don’t want that whole picture to show. It’s way too big. Credit to Endling. This artist is purely made of awesome.[/u] Attacks from very close, with claws and blades, and sometimes a tail.
Name:Ree Pastor
Callsign:Monkey
Age:15
Gender:Female
Height:5’ even
Weight:100 lbs
Hometown:Sylarcis Square
Employment:Warrior/Mechanic [though she mostly only does her own Zoid’s mechanical needs]
Strengths1.)Flexible, nimble and acrobatic, earning her the name ‘Monkey’
2.)After years of practice, she has become incredibly in sync and familiar with her Zoid, Fust, making her aware of nearly every movement he makes as a result of her handling of him so much and making her a better pilot
3.)Good at maintaining her Zoid but not much otherwise involving Zoids; rather, she is adept with computers and video gaming consoles [and video games themselves]
Weaknesses1.) She is TINY, all skin and bones, making for a less than imposing character. On top of that, her childish fashion leads many to call her silly things, ‘Cutsie Pie’, ‘Sweetie’, and ‘Honey’, which she doesn’t enjoy.
2.)Beyond cleaning and basic repairs to her Zoid, she lacks the mechanical skill to really make much of a difference to her Zoid
3.)She consumes fast food at an alarming rate but can’t cook anything that isn’t microwaveable
Theme Song:‘Love ♥ Shine’ by Kosaka Riyu
Appearance:Ree is anything but an imposing figure, and drawing herself up to her full height would make her a diminutive 5 foot even. But her frame is good for some things; she can slip through small spaces with ease, she’s quite nimble and lithe, she fast on her feet and is hard to catch a hold of, and she attracts cutesy names like bees to honey.
Her face is round and soft looking, despite her otherwise bony frame, and her eyes follow in suit, large and round as well as a dark shade of brown. Her emotions float to the surface like dead fish in a pond, easily recognizable, with Ree not bothering to disguise them. Her high cheekbones compliment a dainty nose and her thin lips, which have a peculiar habit of inadvertently puckering when Ree is focused upon something, particularly video games. Her teeth are good and white, and her skin is as pale as porcelain, burning easily [despite this, she loves the desert]. Her hair is a plain mousy brown, long and straight, never a kink or curl to be found. Her bangs, which were self-trimmed, fall somewhat messily onto her forehead, but Ree was never one to care terribly for looks [save for wishing she could be taller].
She is attracted to bracelets, bangles, and hair ties and other various accessories and snags them whenever she can; her trademarks are the three red beads lined up on either side of her head, the purple scrunchie tied about her right wrist alongside the black beaded bracelet, and it’s counterpart, the white beaded bracelet tied about her left wrist [all of which can also serve as hair ties], and the keychain at her hip covered with several adornments that jingle like sleigh bells with her every move.
Her fashion is plain and flexible, mostly consisting of sleeveless, loose tops, shorts, and belted sandals or tennis shoes. Ree has never been seen wearing makeup to this day, nor does she plan to.
Personality:To call Ree eccentric would be an understatement. She is positively pulsating with energy. Her very presence makes others have a little more life to their step, and how could they not, in the presence of this hyperactive, overly optimistic girl?
Rarely could you ever see Ree without a smile on her face, and you could not go five minutes with her without hearing her laugh. Every situation has something to enjoy, Ree says. She learned that from Floyd, her mentor, and she repeats it constantly. Her energy is the released in the form of talking at ninety miles an hour, cart wheeling and other such acrobatics, hanging upside down and swinging back and forth while cheering, consuming fast food in record time, making Fust, her Zoid, dance, and furiously hugging Butch, her dog.
Ree is optimistic about everything; even when she loses a battle, she can still be seen laughing and happy. After her time spent with Lloyd, no one has ever seen Ree truly angry; it’s as if she’s forgotten how to be angry. Even when yelling and stomping about, there’s always a touch of humor to be found, a smile hiding under her scowl. She’s creative with insults, but not the way you’d think; without any cusswords whatsoever, she creates the most confusing combinations and hurls them at various people. Often, she does this without thinking, and this often leads the insults to be more self deprecating. Not that she cares; Ree’s insults aren’t truly meant to insult people, but rather bring a light of humor into any troublesome situation.
Ree is fiercely stubborn and once she is set to a task, she is determined to see it through. She is incredibly loyal to her friends [and she makes those rather easily] and all the while is kind to people who may feel less favorably towards her. Never has Ree truly ‘hated’ a person; not even her father, who drove her mother to her suicide when he abandoned her.
Overall, Ree is just a tiny bundle of cart wheeling sunshine, energy, happiness, and optimism with silly insults and who is constantly wishing she was taller.
History:Ree Pastor had always been told by her mother, Jacqueline Bernadet, the romantic story of how she met Ree’s father, Raymond Pastor. How it was love at first sight, and they were married almost immediately. And how overjoyed he was when they finally had a daughter.
The reality of that story was much different.
Raymond and Jacqueline had been nothing more than acquaintances that met one night at a party, both drunk, and took things farther than intended. Neither of them thought anything of it until Jacqueline approached Raymond with the news; she was pregnant. Raymond’s sense of honor led him to wed Jacqueline and raise his daughter, but he was miserable. Their families rejected both of them and they moved to the poorest downtown section of Sylarcis City. He did not love Jacqueline and did not care for his daughter. Jacqueline realized this and filled her daughter’s head with fairytales to protect her from reaching the same conclusion.
But fairytales could not protect Ree forever, and she soon realized the truth. She felt betrayed and hurt, and rarely stayed in the house for any amount of time. Her mother wanted to tell her that she had always loved her and that she had always loved Raymond as well, but she knew that her daughter was beyond listening.
Outside of her home, Ree was learning to steal, the best places to hide from police, and she was making plenty of friends out of the orphans on the street. Being nimble, lithe, and quick as she was, she could easily snatch almost anything from street vendors and helped her friends stay fed. Soon she was staying out of the house for days at a time, rarely ever speaking to her parents and spending her nights wandering from rooftop to rooftop about Sylarcis Square [also known as the Square of Mangy Orphans]. Though it wasn’t a dream life, she was happy.
It was one day when they climbed to the top of Panda Province, the best downtown Chinese restaurant, that she saw huge robots running about the Salt Mines of Brother Fel, a fancy name for the abandoned field neighboring Sylarcis. She squeaked and rushed to her best friend, Bull Fluorentino. He rolled his eyes at her. “Those are just Zoids, Ree. Jeez…” Ree’s eyes grew big as hubcaps and she looked to the robots once more and realized they were in the form of animals. And these animals were fighting. She watched, transfixed, as a black wolf delivered a finishing blow to a red rhinoceros. “The wolf is called a Command Wolf.” Bull explained. “And the rhinoceros a Red Horn.” She turned and demanded to know everything he knew about Zoids. With a sigh, he began to explain.
Zoids became Ree’s obsession. Every day she climbed to the top of Panda province with Bull and watched Zoids battle. It always seemed to be the same black wolf, but it was always fighting a different opponent. “That guy’s good.” Bull commented. “I haven’t seen him defeated yet.” Though she didn’t even know who the pilot was, he became her idol. She had decided what she wanted to be; she wanted to be a Zoid pilot.
On one of the rare nights when she decided she wanted to sleep in a warm bed, she walked into the house to find silence. That was odd; in Ree’s household, there was always some sort of noise. Usually it was the TV blaring, or her mother cooking, but now an eerie stillness possessed the house. A white piece of paper taped to her bedroom door fluttered in the air conditioner breeze. Ree frowned and looked at it. It was bloodstained. Her eyes narrowed and she read it in an instant. “Love you. Wasn’t enough. Sorry.” Without even thinking, she bolted from the house and down the street. She didn’t know where she was going and she didn’t care. She knew what had happened. It had been bound to happen eventually. Raymond had left them and her mother had taken the easy way out. Tears rushed down her face. Bull caught her as she rushed past him. “Ree, what’s wrong?” But she shook her head. “I’m leaving, Bull.” He blinked, confused. “Did something happen with your parents?” “Yes… no… I just have to go!” she cried and ripped herself free of his grip. As she ran, his voice called after her. “Ree, no! You’ll die out there!” ‘That would be fine with me.’ she thought and kept on running.
She didn’t know where she was going but the air smelled of salt. She realized she must have been on the Salt Mines of Brother Fel. She barely had time to think that it might be dangerous to go running across a Zoid battlefield before the leg of the black Command Wolf stomped right in front of her, sending her flying into the air and landing, unconscious on the ground.
The next thing she was aware of was soreness in her limbs and pain from various bruises covering her body. She groaned, feeling her stomach turn. Her eyes opened, expecting to see the salt fields but instead seeing the desert at night time. She blinked a few times and then realized she was bundled in blankets and bandaged. She sat up, a little too quickly, and the world spun. “Hey, easy, easy!” a gravelly voice exclaimed next to her and gentle hands carefully laid her back down. She saw a poorly shaven face lit by the firelight before hers. “Jeez, kid, don’t you know better than to go running across a Zoid battlefield during a battle?” She ignored that, and simply asked, “Who’re you?” Her voice slurred as she barely possessed the will to speak. “Floyd Tillman.” Her eyes closed. “You pilot the Command Wolf?” He nodded. “Yeah. He’s parked over there.” He hesitated for a moment, seeming embarrassed, but went on. “I call him Rover.” The ghost of a smile curled her lips. “’s a good name.” She murmured. “Have you got a home, kid?” She shook her head. “My parents abandoned me.” In a way, it was the truth. Floyd grumbled and that seemed to further assure him of something. “Fine, then. I’ll take you back to base with me.”
And so he did. Ree soon learned he was part of a team known as ‘The Lightning Team’ and he was, of course, a Zoid pilot but also a mechanic, and a very skilled one. Soon she was learning about Zoids in depth, about their various functions, capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. He began to teach her everything he knew and became her surrogate father of sorts. The two were very close and Floyd found that Ree was an incredibly fast learner, though not quite as good in practice. Despite her struggling with Zoid parts, she soon found herself adept with smaller sample of technology, like computers or gaming consoles. And when she discovered video games, she nearly worshipped them; when she wasn’t dealing with Zoids, she was constantly playing them and assembling her own consoles. She never forgot about her father and mother, but didn’t let unhappiness plague her. Rather, she burst from a shell she had put on herself, becoming spunky and eccentric. She began practicing Martial Arts with one of the team’s medics, Reed Goodman, and it was a style that suited her tiny frame; a mixture of acrobatics and a near forgotten art of Chin Na Su, striking ones pressure points to immobilize them.
Ree, though no where near being as good as Reed, became good enough that she could defend herself to some extent and her naturally lithe frame was well suited to her various acrobatics. It soon became habit for her to walk on her hands, hang upside down, or cartwheel about. Her energetic personality and flipping about earned her the nickname ‘Monkey’ among many. And then her dream came true; Floyd bought her a Zoid. It was an old, beaten down Rev Raptor that was rusty and out of shape. Its Artificial Intelligence could have used a little tweaking and some parts needed replacing, but Ree loved it instantly. She immediately began work on it, vowing to refurbish the entire thing herself. She soon realized that it was much too big a task for her to take on herself, and sheepishly went to Floyd for help, who only laughed and tousled her hair. With Floyd’s help, she scoured the parts and repaired those that needed fixing and soon the Zoid was decent enough to pilot without worrying about anything breaking. She had Beagle, one of the other team members who was also a dog breeder and the bearer of huge muscles, help Floyd and herself with repainting the parts and soon she had herself a dark blue and black, even going so far to polish the claws and blades until they resembled the color, even if only slightly.
And then came learning to pilot the Zoid.
It was a totally different thing than just learning to repair it. The Zoid had a mind of its own and often objected to what Ree wanted to do, not having been piloted in a long time. But by Ree’s own determination, the Zoids stubbornness soon turned to what Ree interpreted as affection. The Rev Raptor wouldn’t let anyone else pilot her, even going so far as to send Floyd flying from the cockpit once. “Well…” Floyd said, catching his breath after being saved by his own Command Wolf. “I guess it’s chosen its pilot.” Ree only laughed, delighted that the Zoid seemed to like her. And it became loads easier to pilot the Zoid after it had accepted her. Soon, after learning the basic maneuvers, she found she was rather adept at it. Soon she grew bored with basic battle functions and formations and began inventing her own tricks. She would do flips, turns, slides, rolls, and slowly learned the Zoids limitations of what it could and couldn’t handle. But the agile Rev Raptor, so much like her, could hand a LOT. Soon she and Floyd began sparring, and her style of utilizing the Rev Raptor’s incredible jumping capabilities in the form of twisting leaps, summersaults in midair, and twisting around him to use the curved blades confused him. Finally, one day, he said he was tired of headaches from trying to follow her and told her to find someone else to practice with.
Her only response was to laugh gleefully and run about, challenging every member of the team to sparring matches. Some she lost, some she won, but she always learned something new from every member of the team. She and the Rev Raptor were an excellent pair and she was glad to find that she excelled at something besides video games.
And then came her fourteenth birthday. Floyd had 4 presents for her that he had picked out months before hand. He smiled when he presented the first three to her upon her Zoid. She nearly screamed with delight. Boosters and a cloaking device had been installed. He then showed her the extra programs that he had installed in addition to the Organoid system; programs that could detect other Zoids and assess various weaknesses and strengths as well as tracking cloaked Zoids. After she got over her excitement, she looked quite worried. “Did you get rid of the original Zoid?” In response, the Zoid in question let out a cry and Floyd grinned. “I would never dream of it.” Ree squealed and hugged Floyd and then rushed to her Zoid. “I’ve thought of what I wanted to name him.” Floyd grinned, knowing she would get to this eventually. “Fust. I’ll call him Fust.” Floyd nodded and tousled her hair as he often did. “That’s a good name.” As if in agreement, Fust roared.
“And I have one last present for you, but this one’s from Beagle and me.” A dog darted into the hangar, excitedly running and nuzzling her about. He [for he was obviously of the male persuasion, upon observation] was a pretty red with pointed ears and a curly tail. “Does he have a name?” she looked up expectantly, and Floyd grinned. “If you give him one.” She looked at him and his grinning face. “You shall be Butch.” He then smeared his large wet tongue across her face, which she took as agreement. “He’ll look after you while you’re gone.” Ree looked up. “You knew I was planning to leave.” He smiled a sad sort of smile. “I knew you were a free spirit and that you could never be tied down to one place.” In the end, they said their farewells, promising to see each other again one day. His final gift to her was a considerable sum of money to buy food with and to make her life as a wanderer.
And so Ree is trying to do so; never really trying to make something out of her life, but enjoy everything there is to enjoy. Her mother and father had inadvertently taught her that lesson.
Never give up hope.

Zoid:Rev Raptor
Status:Upgraded
Rank:C
Description:One of the first Zoids created using the [insert system name here] System, the Rev Raptor is far more agile, responsive and intelligent than older Zoid designs. The Zoid's small size and agility made it ideal for use as a reconnaissance unit, while its relatively simple design made it very easy to mass produce, despite the advanced [insert system name here] System.
While the Rev Raptor possesses a considerable array of melee weapons for a Zoid of its size, the machine completely lacks any ranged weapons. As a result, it is often at a disadvantage against theoretically weaker Zoids, such as the Godos or Guysak.
Ree’s Rev Raptor in particular has seen a color change [displayed in the picture above] as well as the installment of additional programs to its [insert system name here] System and a Cloaking Device, making it invisible to the naked eye. The installment to its [insert system name here] System resembles the BEEK with a few functions removed, only rather than replacing the [insert system name here] System, it is more of an add on. Its main function is to detect other cloaked Zoids from their heat signatures and gunshots. The same speakers used to detect the gunshots also allow her to hear obvious sounds around her with a range slightly longer than the human ear and occasionally detect the direction on Ree's request [though most of the time it just points in a direction and a very general area and a lot of times it points to animals or other stupid things].
Ree prefers to call her Zoid ‘Fust’.
Offense:Close Range:
Strong against long range, weak against medium range. Made effective by cloaking device.[/blockquote]
Defense:
Stealth:Fust is hard to see when he has activated his cloaking device, so it takes a while to find/target it, long enough so that she can rush in and get a few hits of her own.
Strong against Speed, weak against Armor.[/blockquote]
Strategy:
Tactical:[/u] Always analyzes the opponent, using their movements against them.
Strong against Reckless, weak against Cautious.[/blockquote][/sub][/blockquote]
