Quick Brawl

[Amaya]

A loud thumping filled the still air as Amaya piloted her zoid to the center of the arid wasteland around her. The red saber tooth tiger like zoid reared back its head and roared loudly. Slowly it lowered its head and pawed the ground in front of it. A ghost of a breeze graced the desert terrain. Amaya frowned to herself, her opponent was nowhere to be found.

[Ai Otome]

Ai Otome had received a challenge from the Zoid Battle Commission stating she had an opponent waiting for her. It was a red zaber fang, a nice challenge. Ai suited up into her blue shield liger and made her way to the site of the fight. Ai got there and saw a lone zaber fang, red in color. Ai assumed it was her opponent and carefully walked closer. Ai opened up communications with the zaber fang. "Excuse me, are you my opponent" Ai asked politely. She didn't want to randomly attack for no reason. The shield liger roared loudly. "Settle down Blue" Ai said calmly. Ai patiently waited for a response from the pilot of the red zaber fang.

[Amaya]

Amaya smiled at the appearance of her opponent. "Sure am. I hope you are a challenge." Amaya said right before a crash sounded through the area. A cloud of smoke was all that was visible until it cleared revealing a capsule containing the judge. "The immediate area is now a battle zone. The seven mile radius around this area is now off limits. Area scanned, Battlefield secure. This area is now a designated battle zone. The area within an eight mile radius is now off limits. Area scanned... Battlefield secure. Amaya versus Ai. Battle mode 0992. Ready... Fight!" The Judge stated.

"I'll let you make the first move." Amaya said smiling. She was itching for a battle.

[Ai Otome]

Ai smiled as she confirmed that this was indeed her opponent. A capsule collided with the ground and was surrounded by smoke. It was a judge capsule. "Battle mode 0992? No restrictions on ammunition? Fine with me" Ai thought to herself. Ai's opponent said she could make the first move. "Let me make the first move? That's a bit careless" Ai said smiling. She had her shield liger run at it's maximum speed towards the zaber fang. Ai tried to get in close and use her claws and as a precaution Ai had a hand ready to turn on her shield just in case.

[Amaya]

Amaya chuckled. She hadn't expected her opponent to attack so carelessly. She had intentionally had her enemy attack first. Using her laser machinegun she fired a quick series of rounds and jumped back as she fired them. The effect was that the Shield Liger would charge into the rounds and Amaya would use that quick attack to jump from close range to medium range. She was going to make sure to keep a bit of distance between herself and the Shield Liger so she could weaken it with firepower and then move in for the kill.

[Ai Otome]

Ai had predicted that this was a trap and turned on her shield. The shield deflected the attack. Ai aimed a gun at the zaber fang's right hind leg and fired. She was using an Anti-Zoid 30mm Double-Barreled Beam Gun. If Ai had timed her shoot right then she might have a change of doing some damage. Ai was moving closer and closer to the zaber fang with the hopes of slicing it with the shield liger's claws. Ai also hoped that this would be an interesting fight.

[Amaya]

Amaya grimaced. She couldn't do much to evade seeing as how she wasn't prepared for so quick a counter attack. The most she could do was minimize damage and attack. She took a half step back, she still took the blast to the hind leg, but it wasn't near any major joint. It was closer to the foot of the zoid and thus hit nothing vital, but it did do damage. The zoid lurched forward in a mock charge and feinted at the last minute firing a series of rounds from the laser machine gun. The zoid turned sharply ready to either charge the Shield Liger or try and jump back. She was going to use hit and run tactics for this battle or at least until she saw an opening.

[Ai Otome]

Ai smiled, she had hit her target. It was not a major blow but it could help in the future. As Ai neared the zaber fang she felt something hit the side of her zoid. Looking down at a computer screen Ai saw that her shield unit needed to cool down a bit so it had shut off. Her only tactic now was to hit the zaber fang hard. Ai saw the zaber fang turn sharply and so she jumped back a bit. A good distance away from the zaber fang Ai turned on her Pop-Out Type missile Pods and aimed at the zaber fang. Ai's goal was not to destroy her opponent just cause it to stop moving or shut down. Ai fired a few missiles and put the missile pods away. Ammo was expensive and Ai didn't want to waste it.

[Amaya]

Amaya looked at the opposing Zoid. She was going to have her work cut out for her if she wanted to keep her hit and run tactics plausible. The zaber fang jumped back and turned sharply running from the missiles. Amaya heard them hit the ground around her, the explosions worried her. She expected for one of them to hit, but luckily using her quick reflexes she had evaded them. The zoid turned sharply again and charged towards the liger. Another round was fired from the laser machine gun as the distance was lessened. When the zaber fang was close enough it barreled into the liger or attempted to, claws ready to strike against metal as the lethal tackle was attempted.

[Ai Otome]

Ai watched the zaber fang's movements carefully. It dodged her two missiles easily enough and fired a weapon of it's own. Ai moved out of the way best she could and only suffered some light hits and checked her shield generator, it was working again. The zaber fang came closer towards Ai and as it came in rage Ai quickly reactivated the shield. This would hopefully throw the zaber fang away from Ai. As a bluff Ai opened her missile pods again pretending to aim at the zaber fang. This was the most fun battle Ai had in ages.

[Amaya]

Amaya growled as she felt her Zoid being repelled back by the shield. The zaber fang hit the ground stirring up dust and was quickly back on its feet. "Time for a change in tactic." Amaya thought to herself. The beam gun on the back of the zaber fang began to charge and released a two bolts of beams at the Shield Liger. The machine gun soon fired a small round about half the amount of before. The combination of laser attacks was an attempt to cause damage and a chance for her to put distance between them again. The zaber fang jumped back quickly.

[Ai Otome]

Ai was impressed with this Amaya's piloting. She was very good but so was Ai. She quickly looked at a screen inside her zoid to check the ammo situation. She had four missiles left and full ammo for her other guns, except the two she had fired meaning each gun had one less shot. Ai was hit by two blasts from a beam gun and a few rounds from amachine gun. The combiantion was enough to turn off Ai's sheilds. Ai now needed to buy some time while her shield generator cooled down. Ai fired her remaining missiles to try and do more damage to the zaber fang. As a back up Ai readied her Anti-Zoid 30mm Double-Barreled Beam Gun again and fired off three rounds. The missles aimed for the zaber fang's legs while the Anti-Zoid 30mm Double-Barreled Beam Gun bullets aimed for the zaber fang's chest. Ai jumped back to watch her work and make sure she had a plan just in case.

[Amaya]

Amaya was glad to see the shield had finally dropped, but now here came the hard part. She had to actually land a blow on the shield liger and keep herself from being destroyed. Amaya looked at the screen and smiled. She still had a lot of ammunition, but she was about to deplete one of her weapons completely. She knew the worst attack to take and she was going to do her best to avoid it. The Saber fang reared back almost as if ready to pounce. She couldn't dodge the missiles because it would put the Liger out of range for her next attack. As the missiles came rocketing towards her the zaber fang's own SSM pod deployed. She fired off all of them. That was between four and eight missile pods. Half aimed for the legs of the Liger and the rest aimed for the head and back. When the missiles had been fired and the Liger's own attack had hit the zaber fang moved back to avoid the beam gun bullets. Amaya took a quick glance at her screen and was glad to that her zoid would still function. She was going to have to be careful about taking damage to the legs though. She wasn't in the red on the Zoid's leg armor, but she would be if she kept taking hits there.

[Ai Otome]

Time go stop playing around and fight for real. Ai watched as her missiles were blocked with some of the zaber fang's missiles. Ai smirked to herself thinking about what a great pilot Amaya was. The rest of the missiles came towards Ai and she had a plan. She ran at maximum speed towards a mountain wall and ran up it. This would hopefully cause the missiles to hit the mountain and not the shield liger. Ai then jumped off the wall and spun in mid-air. With her claws outstretched she was like a drill headed right at the zaber fang. Ai took a quick glance at her screen to check on the condition of her shield generator, only a few minutes left till it was working again.

[Amaya]

Amaya growled as her missiles missed their target. She had hoped her tactics would work, but it seemed she was out of luck. She was going to have to go for an all out attack soon or she would never disable this Shield Liger. She watched the Liger for a second and when she saw what it was doing she had a plan already in mind. She fired a two rounds from her beam machine gun in quick succession. She was aiming for the Liger's front legs and its head. She was hoping to cause as much damage as possible. As soon as the attack was sent she jumped back enough so the attack would miss if the Liger somehow made it through the attack. She was still in close range though.
