Marcus had trekked farther and farther down the familiar dunes that he had previously traversed with his late Rev Raptor, searching frantically for the remains of Vee, whom had been demolished to tiny fragments by Max's equally late Houndsoldier. It was at this point the sky set into cold night, the moonlight had reflected off of Marcus' small cog-shaped pendant he had always worn as a good-luck talisman. C'mon, Vee... Where are you? he asked mentally, ceaselessly searching and searching for the wreckage of the blue and black Zoid.
Luck payed off this time, as Marcus had caught the familiar glimmer of a blue cockpit plate within the sandy dunes, instantly dashing his way towards the eventual crash site of Vee, the destroyed Rev Raptor Marcus had cherished so dearly. Looking solemnly at the head of his former Zoid, he smiled weakly, knowing that even though the body was dead, the memories (albeit mostly brief) were quite valuable. But it was time to get to work. "Let's hope I can revive you in time."
Instantly mounting himself within the emptied cockpit of the Zoid, he scrambled around charred wires and metallic scraps, hoping to find the panel that released a door; leading to Vee's eventual memory processor. Feeling up the familiar indentations that indicated that he was in the right place, he slammed his right fist onto the doorway, causing the little panel to pop open and fall to the ruined wreckage, Marcus flipping on a miniature flashlight he had carried on him.
Bingo. Just what he was looking for -- the memory core that Vee had had was still, miraculously, intact! Flipping a switch with a widespread grin, the technological card popped out of the socket it had been lodged in neatly, being pulled out and kissed by the ponytailed boy as if he had cherished the object for all his life. "Sweet! Even after a fatal explosion, you're still kickin'!" he muttered in a devilish tone, holstering the card in his pocket, his job finished. He had trailed back towards Romeo City, the lights now flickering on as soon as the sun set at a certain time, hoping to go Zoid shopping.
Looking back at Vee's former body, he shook his head before weakly grinning. "Don't worry, Vee. I'm gonna get you a stronger body. One that's better than that hunk of junk!" he confidently shouted, clenching a fist in victory before wincing in pain at his left arm, which was still broken. "Perhaps I really shouldn't have taken that splint off..." he sheepishly pondered to himself, walking lazily towards Romeo City, knowing that Vee would live to fight another day.

(Most likely subject to instant archiving, since it's so short.)
