Operation Avenger (mission)

The sun was blazing high in the sky. The area was devoid of grass, the ground just dirt and in some places massive slabs of concrete. It was deserted. The inhabitants had decided to go for a training session a ways out from the base. The two Canon Molgas and Gordos stood in a triangle like shape each one looking in a different direction.

( I'll get the party started then! Max will be along shortly once he arrives from his current thread. )

"Here's to playing it safe," Pat murmured to himself, his zoid crouched behind a patch of concrete and rock at the edge of one of the light forests. He kept it low to the ground and crouched, putting it in the most stable condition. He could always wait for the other pilot to arrive, and then start the battle, but where would the fun in that be? When this guy arrived, it would be easier for him to get in close if the enemy was already trying to deal with a long-range assault. Patrick Norstein was prepared to deliver that.

His cannon pivoted a few degrees, settling onto one of the cannonry molgas in the distance. He was just within range for his cannon, but was within retaliation range from those molga cannons as well. He picked the one that was facing in his direction, spending about a minute fine-tuning his aim and focusing it on the center of the cockpit. When he was ready, the trigger pulled, and he fired! His long-range cannon was no sniper, but was still accurate. He fired off 3 more shots, without the highly-calibrated aim, then shifted his zoid back. When the fire returned, he didn't want to be in the same position. Trotting to the side, he took up hiding behind a few trees, watching the reaction.

[/b] muttered Max to himself, the Shield Liger having been observing from another location. Starting from a couple of meters behind the Command Wolf, he would open up a communication link with it, deciding to let him in on the plan he quickly cooked up.

"Come in Command Wolf pilot. I am your partner. I'm gonna leap over those foos. The Gordos is slow, so it won't be able to turn around in time. The molgas... Well, leave 'em to me." spoke Max, a mouthful of words sent to his comrade as he had the Shield Liger sprint forward and leap over the group of Zoids. He would make the Liger land front paws first, shifting its weight so that it would spin on one of the front paws to face the back of the enemy troops.

Once he face them, the second paw would plant into the ground in order to stop the spin. With the two hind paws following, Max would waste no time in opening fire. Locking onto the two Molgas he would open up the Shield Liger's missile launchers, firing two missiles off at once. Each was aimed at one of the Molgas and would be followed by a round from his Shield Liger's triple-barrelled shock cannon that was aimed at the Gordos.

The zoids showed no sign of noticing the oncoming zoids. They where completely unaware until the cannon fire hit its mark. The Molga was hit hard by the first round and knocked back resulting in the last two shots missing. The Molga was still operational, but it was easy to tell it had taken damage. In retaliation it fired a horde of missiles in the direction that the shot had come from. It was like a miniature wall of missiles each one some inches apart. There wasn't a good chance it would hit the command wolf however.

Thanks to this warning shot the whole group of pilots had become aware of intruders. They came closer together leaving only a zoid's length between them.

When the Shield Liger landed in their midst the Molga's were the first to attack. The one that had been attacked previously fired off three missiles each one aimed for the back of the shield liger. The other molga fired off a few shots from its own cannon. The missiles fired by the shield liger intercepted those fired by the molga that had been hit previously. The effect was a brief explosion that hid the second molga's attack. The Gordos being the slowest to move had to turn because of the fact it was facing the opposite direction of the shield liger. The shield liger's attacks hit, but didn't do a lot of damage. The Gordos had good defense which was the only reason it was a useful zoid. Now facing the shield liger it fired round after round from its 105mm High Speed Railgun aiming for the Shield Liger's legs and cockpit.

"Hands Off My Prey!" Jay screamed as he ran with his boosters on at full power towards the crowd of zoids. He quickly jumped in the air with great force and came like a missile towards his targets. He smirked as he landed near the zoids. Without warning he charged and screamed "Lets go Kiba!,Strike Lazer Claws!" he yelled as his Zoid jumped in the air with his claws charged and aimed to cut a cannon molga's cannon clean off,the surprise of his arrival and the speed he was moving at should have been enough to get the job done.

He quickly established a communication link after his attack. He tried to make contact with the shield liger."Hello Shield Liger Pilot,My Name is unimportant right now,I have been sent on a mission to get rid of these zoids,and appears I have been sent as reinforcement,I will follow your orders,seeing as I like your style the most." He smiled to the screen of the shield liger who could see his face because of the commnunication Link.

Pat smirked. This was perfect. With two close-range zoids jumping around the group and causing chaos, he had all the cover he needed. He pulled his command wolf out into the open. The missiles had been fired towards his old position, so none had hit him, thankfully. As he walked out of the trees, though, a few of the ones on the edge detected him and peeled off, streaking off in his direction. With a quick hop, he hid behind a smallish rock, but still took flak damage from the missiles impacting it about a foot away.

With the three assaulted at close range, any zoid who took the time to turn and aim a long-range assault at him would be torn to pieces in seconds. Taking advantage of that, he moved his zoid out into the open again, where he could get the clearest shots. This new spot was next to a larger rock outcropping, though, in case any missiles came his way. Focusing in, he started to take aim once more, a small sight flipping down over his eye from the zoid cockpit. The Gordos was occupied with the Shield Liger, and the Leo Blaze was assaulting the undamaged molga. He targeted the one he had hit before, firing off a deep shot. He kept firing constantly, not having to worry about moving or taking cover unless he saw some missiles coming.

[/b] called Max to his Zoid, reassuring it. The reaction was to the blasts it took from the Molga, hidden from the smoke generated by the explosion of missiles. Max knew he couldn't stay put and be a target, so his plan was to rush forward. Gripping the Shield Liger's controls tightly, he would charge into the smoke.

Of course, he wasn't stupid. He had engaged his Shield Liger's Energy Shield should any of his opponents have a radar and open fire on him as he rushed through the smoke. The Shield served a double purpose as well, to serve as a battering ram. The Shield Liger was rushing towards the Gordos, hoping to knock it over with a full frontal ram using its Shield.

"Welcome to the team, just don't screw up!" yelled Max, closing the communication link just as soon as it sprung up at him. After all, he couldn't let it distract him from his combat. Turquoise eyes squinted as they peered forward, hoping to mash at least one of the zoids.

The Cannon Molga saw the oncoming zoid and did the only thing it could fired like crazy. Rounds from its cannon and a few shots from the small beam guns on the front of it. It didn't know if the attacks had deterred the oncoming Zoid, but if it hadn't then the cannon was as good as gone. The other already damaged Molga was aiming its weaponry at the Liger that had appeared, but it didn't get the chance. It was being assualted by so many shots that it had no chance to fire a single round. The molga appeared unresponsive, but it wasn't down for the count. The sound of electricity filled the air as the Molga slowly moved forward. It looked around for a brief second and saw the Command Wolf. That was all it needed. It unloaded every missile in its arsenal aiming for the Command Wolf and the area around it meaning it had to do be fast to outrun the raining missiles.

The Gordos wasn't fairing any better then its teammates. It kept firing, but none of its attacks seemed to do any good. It had no time to react before it was rammed by the oncoming liger and knocked over. Slowly it got up its gun aimed at the shield liger, but it didn't fire. When it was finally up it fired rounds from its rail gun again.

Jay smirked as he saw the molga attempted to fire a barrage of shots to make him waver. But his right hand moved swift to a button and pressed it. Within moments there was a red shield protecting the leo blaze from the barrage of attacks. As the shield went down the bullets had depleted as his claw came in contact and cut the cannon clean off."Tch,Way to easy,now to finish the job" He turned after the attack and let loose 4 shots towards the unarmed molga.

He than ran towards it and jumped in the air and pulled back on the controls,causing the Leo Blaze to fall back somewhat,it then came falling down on the molga,blade first,attempting to pierce through the molga,finishing it. He established a link to the command wolf and simply said "Mind covering me so that I dont get hit while doing this move?"

"Umm... Hold on a sec, I'll handle it." he replied, to the pilot in the Leo Blaze. Keeping his aim focused, he fired one more round towards the molga, right after the missiles were launched. Then, he unloaded every shot he could until his gun overheated, broadly coating the area between the two molgas. He focused exclusively between those two zoids to get as much as either as possible, not wanting to target the Gordos lest he hit the shield liger. By the time he was done firing, and his gun barrel stopped hotly, he had launched off eight shots. Even if most o them wouldnt hit, they would at least coat the area in smoke for the Leo Blaze to attack through.

Then, the missiles were only about a second away. The boosters on the back of Pat's zoid flared up a second before he finished firing, reaching full blast right when he was ready to move. Already crouched for accuracy, his zoid was ready to leap. He dove to the side recklessly, into the tree line, putting his zoid into a roll. He crushed the heat-warped cannon beneath him as he tumbled, the missiles tracking him through the trees. While most of them hit branches or wood and blew up, several hit the zoid directly. The cannon on his back was completely rendered useless, and his right leg damaged. Getting to his feet, he grunted, discharging the cannon to lighten his zoid. "You owe me big time, Leo Blaze," he commented.

[/b] jeered Max, a smirk curling itself onto his face. But he wouldn't allow the Gordos an oppurtunity to attack once he felt that his ram made contact. He would disable the Shield Liger's shield, firing off three rounds from his triple-barrelled shock cannon. Considering the speed of the Gordos, either the shots would most likely impact before it got up or as it got up. Without waiting to see the results, Max would make the Shield Liger leap at the Gordos once more.

The Shield Liger's claws would extend, aiming pounce on the Zoid before it could make a move. His plan was to inflict as much damage as he could before the Gordos could ready itself for any strike. Max made sure to carefully place the barrage of attacks, attempting to freeze the Zoid's system rather than to destroy it. After all, Max didn't want anyone else to experience what had happened to him.[/ul][/ul][/sup]

The two molga's didn't even have a chance to dodge or to fire a counter. The combined assault on them was to much for them to handle. In two separate explosions they were rendered useless and defeated. The Gordo's pilot yelled to his fallen comrades, but got no response. It was easy to tell they had been knocked out cold.

The Gordo's slowly got up and felt the cannon's attack made contact. The Gordo's main weapon was damaged by the attack and when it finally got up it experienced a brief explosion as the remains of the main cannon were completely destroyed and cut clean off. The Zoid was still able to move, but it was close to over. It aimed its weaponry moving as quickly as it could to face the Liger. It fired off both Maxer 30 mm Multipurpose Machine Gun until they where completely emptied.

Jay pumped his fist in excitement when he felt the explosion under him occur. His leo blaze hardly took any damage and he opened the link to the command wolf. "Thanks again for the coverage Command Wolf,Thanks to you the molga got totaled. Now in return your gonna get paid..." He said as he pushed his boosters at full force towards the gordos. He began shooting a flurry from his AZ cannons to try and nail some more damage on it. He then jumped over it and skidded to a halt. He knew that the shield liger pilot could finish the job.

Pat smirked. He'd done his part, taken out one molga entirely on his own and assisted with the destruction on the other. The big prey could go to the cats. He reached down to pick his damaged cannon up in his mouth, trotting out of the forest on the far side and circling around to watch the battle from a safe distance. He kept his comm link open, but didn't say anything back to the other two. The zoid limped a little, but the main body wasn't too horribly damaged. That cannon would take forever to fix though.

[xX Max Xx]

[/b] yelled Max, his Shield Liger roaring in response. The Gordos had gotten up after his onslaught of attacks, even with the cannon having exploded. Max sighed, knowing his next hit had to be a quite powerful strike. Tapping the button, his Shield Liger would engage its Energy Shield, Max gripping the controls and pulsing them forward. The Shield Liger would rush forward, claws extended.

"Finish it, Mufasa--!!" yelled Max, the Shield Liger roaring in unison as it attempted to ram straight into the Gordos, its shots intercepted by the Liger's defense. His two comrades had succeeded in taking out a Zoid each, so he couldn't fall short of them both. Just as a safety measure, three shots would once again release from the Shock Cannon of the Shield Liger as it pushed forward.
