Amaya waited patiently on the platform. This was her third attempt at staying in the tournament. She couldn't keep losing. She wouldn't lose this match no matter what it took. She drummed her fingers on the dashboard trying to pass the time. She really hoped her opponent would show up before she died of boredom. "Please be strong...but defeatable." Amaya grumbled.

As the platform rose, Kevin mentally prepared himself. "This is likely to be difficult, but victory isn't a desire, its a necessity." He said quietly to himself. The platform finally reached its peak, as he moved the controls, stepping about a zoid's length off of the platform. His eyes immediately caught his opponent.
"The usual." He simply stated, he toyed with the controls, preparing himself completely. As usual, he would allow his opponent to make the first move. "Get ready, Bob. We'll show this pilot that we are not to be trifled with." He said softly yet sternly.

Amaya looked at the zoid and for once her calm persona faltered. "Are you serous? A spider...of all things a spider. The epiphany of the most disturbing zoid is my opponent. Oh I look forward to crushing that thing and ripping those legs off one by one." Amaya said before the zoid capsule landed.
""The immediate area is now a battle zone. The seven mile radius around this area is now off limits. Area scanned, Battlefield secure. This area is now a designated battle zone. This entire platform is now off limits. Area scanned... Battlefield secure. Shadow versus Amaya. Battle mode 0240. Ready... Fight!" The Judge said.
Amaya didn't run forward, but instead moved forward a zoid's length waiting. She wasn't sure what to make of this zoid. All she knew was that she would keep her distance from the edge. It was currently four zoids length away from her.

Kevin couldn't help but be cautious. Its moves would be a little more difficult to analyze, seeing as how its reflexes were equal to, if not better than his own. Moving the controls slightly forward, the legs began to move. They carried him in a diagonal direction, getting closer and closer until they were only about 2 zoid lengths apart.
'She'll likely lunge now.' He thought to himself. Without the weapons, this would prove slightly more difficult. Each leg had enough power to do some damage, but without the blades, they aren't nearly as destructive. Of course, with 4 usable legs at nearly any given time, there were ways he would handle this opponent. "Your move." He clearly stated, preparing to react.

Amaya only chuckled at his statement. "I'm no idiot. I'm not going to make the first move...not yet anyway." Amaya said moving back a zoids length and then to the right. She kept her eyes on the opponent facing diagonally. Amaya looked at the spider zoid measuring what it could do. She had the advantage of speed, but the spider had the advantage of an easier counter.
The Zaber fang went forward and ran forward to about a zoids length away. It bared its teeth and then jumped back. She was hoping to provoke the opposing zoid into attacking and then she could counter, catching it off guard.

Kevin merely smiled, deciding that this battle would likely be over with one or two blows. Neither combatant was willing to make a move yet. He moved slowly with the opponent, being sure to stay a minimum of 2 zoid lengths away from her. He then began to move backwards toward the ledge, winding up roughly 4 zoid lengths from her.
"There are only two ways of my winning this battle. One of them is offense, and the other defensive. I don't see the defensive coming into play." He said to himself, the zoid's foremost legs rising up in a defensive posture, bent at the highest joint, pointing the legs toward his opponent.

Amaya looked at the opponent and the fact that it was getting closer to the ledge. She might be able to use that to her advantage. The Zaber fang moved forward stalking its prey. It moves left then right as it advanced. The Zaber fang then shot off and leaned in a skidding position as to bypass the Spider's defenses and still keep speed. The back legs dug into the ground and it shot upward, its front claws aimed to stab at the underside of the spider zoid. Even if it was captured by the legs it would still manage to cause some moderate to major damage simply because of the proximity and the aim.

Kevin was surprised by the sudden attack, but he was still ready for it. The front claws were the immediate danger, and this was a perfect opportunity to show his opponent just who they were dealing with. The two foremost legs shot forward, hitting his opponent's upper chest, directly beside the legs, stopping the claws just short of his underbelly. From here, it wouldn't have time to move back, it was the perfect time for a counterattack.
Kevin quickly hit the controls, the two legs directly below moved forward, attempting to wrap around its body and pull it into a grapple hold. This simple move could mean the end for it. Worst case, the opponent frenzies and gets in a couple good hits. It was unlikely however Immediately upon the grapple attempt, the torso moved forward, the zoid's reflexes nearly instantaneous. The mandibles were open wide, and attempted to close forcefully on the exposed neck of the Zaber Fang. The sheer crushing strength of the mandibles would easily sever the head from the body of the opponent if successful.

Amaya had expected a counter which was what she had in actuality been hoping for. When the two claws hit it bite down on one of the claws with its greatest strength and pulled away tearing at it. It wouldn't sever the leg, but it would do some damage. When the two legs came forward its back legs used them as a springboard. It pushed off them strongly, but not before biting down on the undamaged leg. This time it would do more damage because it was jumping away and ripping metal away.
When it landed away from the Spider it would spit out the metal in its mouth. "Nice try, but I won't be that easy to beat." Amaya said. Her plan was going good.

Kevin groaned in complaint, realizing that two of his legs were now damaged, but not to the point that they couldn't still be useful. As the opponent was pulling back, the four hind legs dropped down close to the ground, preparing. Before the opponent's legs could touch, the spider's hind legs shot up, leaping the zoid toward its opponent.
The four middle legs shot forward, closing the gap between them within a fraction of a second. Immediately when the Zaber Fang's paws touched, the four legs would plant themselves firmly into the opponent's chest, knocking it back and down. As it falls back, the spider brings its body in, pushing its legs down against the opponent, pinning it to the ground as the lowermost legs touch the ground beside the opponent for balance. The hind legs of the Zaber Fang would prove useless in this situation. At the moment of impact, the upper, and damaged legs pressed onto the inner legs, pushing them forcefully into the floor. This was his second chance at a win, it had to be done properly this time. Again, the head would lunge forward at the victim, mandibles attempting to sever the head from the neck again. He was sure this time, it had to be over.

Amaya saw the zoid coming towards her and had the back legs coil up so that once it touched the ground it would be ready to jump upward and attempt to land a critical blow. The result of this maneuver was that oncoming legs hit the Zaber's back legs. It didn't render them useless, but it damaged them enough to cause a small amount of lag during very demanding maneuvers. The Zaber fang cleared the Zoids head and landed on top of it. The zaber fang dug its claws into the head of the Zoid attempting to sever the head.
It didn't stop there, it bite down on every joint of the zoid it could (Where the legs join the zoid's body). The only way to get it off was to throw it and it was digging its back claws in as tightly as it could so that would be a hard feat to manage.

As the enemy leaped toward him, it became obvious that this battle was going to be monumental. He could tell that the objective was to get above him. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to react in time. It landed on the upper body and began its assault. "Ah, darn it! Get off!" He shouted angrily.
The lower legs coiled and then with all their strength jumped up into the air, easily rising a good 10 stories thanks to the immense strength in the legs. Now in his own element, the real battle could begin. Turning the zoid in mid air was no problem. The zoid flipped around so it was upside down, gravity now pulling them down. Because of its claws and grip, the dastardly feline wouldn't fall. In an instant the upper body rolled backwards, driving its uppermost four legs into the chest of his opponent. The force should be enough to remove the metallic fur ball from its grip, or at least loosen it. Upon said impact, its lowermost legs shot back, gripping into the lower legs of the Zaber, rising up quickly, using the present moment in an attempt to hurl the enemy away to the right. From the strength of the zoid and the moment already present, the force would be more than sufficient to make it clear the ring, launching it off the elevated platform approximately 3-4 zoid length's from the ledge.

When the jump began the Zaber Fang dug its fangs into the cockpit of the zoid and dug its claws into the forward arm joints, both sets and then hung on for dear life. If it was thrown there was a good chance the spider would lose at least three of its legs and the cockpit would take heavy damage. This would stop the initial attempt to loosen its grip. When it was pulled off it ripped joints and a lot of the cockpit area of the zoid with it. When it was pulled away and attempted to be hurled the only thing Amaya could do was done. The zoid dug its claws into the exposed bottom half, using the higher part of the zoid to brace itself from being pulled. The teeth locked on the joint that held the zoid's front and bottom half together. The end result was a lot of damage to the zoid's middle joint and the Zaber Fang staying on even if its back legs had sustained some damage from it. It was still on tight enough to keep from falling.

As soon as the Zaber Fang began its attempt to prevent the throw, Kevin simply halted the attempt. He still received damage, but this way it would be far less. Instead, he merely stayed in position, allowing gravity to do the work. Since it had such a tight grip of him, the odds of it being able to get away were very slim.
He knew however that slim was still too good. He then immediately rotated back again, wrapping his two already damaged legs around the body of the opponent. The sacrifice of the two limbs would be worth a victory. As they hurdled toward the ground, picking up speed, he dropped the head of the zoid down, forcing the mandibles closed over the left front leg, effectively removing the limb from the Zaber Fang. The continued plummeting until finally they both crashed into the ground, easily landing with enough force to crush the one on bottom. Not entirely of course, but the damage would be catastrophic.

When the attempt to remove it was stopped the Zaber Fang instantly reduced its grasp to go for a second attack. When the zoid started to turn Amaya knew she had to do something or she was royally screwed. When the legs attacked her she clawed at them and then bite down crushing one. Once it was crushed she jumped away digging her claws into the spider zoid as it went down. The jump was angled so that the landing wouldn't put it under the spider and it wouldn't go over the edge. When it landed it shot off to put distance between them. Amaya was surprised she had survived this battle so far. Her zoid was still in fighting condition, but the landing had done some damage to the limbs. They could still function, but they couldn't stand to much more.
