Kevin groaned from the cockpit of his zoid. Bob had sustained so much damage already. He began checking each system, realizing that few of them were still functioning properly. "I underestimated the maneuverability of her zoid. Even in mid air she was able to move enough to avoid the impact. I grow tired of this." He complained quietly to himself. The front two limbs were pretty much useless now, aside from working as a distraction.
He knew that the battle was over, regardless of the victor. One more attack, and it was the end. Slowly rising to its feet, the spider stood, its right foreleg damaged to the point that it surged with electricity from the bare wiring. His odds of victory were so slim at this point. It was time for a last ditch attack. If this attack failed, he lost, if it succeeded, he at least had a chance. Even if the attack worked flawlessly, there was still a chance he would lose. "Its all or nothing." He muttered, the rear legs coiling down again. This time the angle wasn't directed upward, but toward his opponent again. The legs shot up, a perfectly aimed pounce in the Zaber Fang's direction. However, this time, instead of pushing its legs toward the opponent, he held them all outstretched to the sides, other than his right rear leg. As he neared his opponent, he lunged his head forward at her as a distraction, just before immediately throwing his arms around her zoid. Making them both drop over the edge. As they began to fall however, his rear leg that was held back, gripped onto the side of the platform, allowing him to stay up as he released her to let her plummet to the ground below. If this worked, he could win, if not, it was over anyway.

Amaya watched the zoid closely. She knew this battle was far from over and that there was a real danger posed by getting close to this zoid again. She had already sustained a lot of damage from having a short close combat encounter with it. She had to avoid those legs or figure out some way to use them against the opposing zoid. She had no intentions of losing so she was going to avoid what could be her lose.
When he began to jump she was already executing a counter strike. The Zaber Fang's back legs coiled ready to catapult the Zaber Fang out of the way of the attack. She was planning on a sneak attack. As soon as she had coiled her legs they sprang sending her in a low lunge towards the spider. She would miss it, but that was the point. The oncoming attack would miss or at least somewhat. The end result put her close to the back legs, literally right behind them. She took advantage of it as quickly as possible. The Zaber Fang turned claws posed to strike and in one quick swipe it attacked one of the back legs and jumped away. As she jumped away she realized that the opposing zoid's back leg had managed to pierce her zoid's back foot. The zoid could still stand, but the back leg was near useless. It wouldn't respond well. She could only hope that she could still win this.
She watched from a distance hoping her attack had done what she had intended, knock her opponent off the arena. If its back legs wouldn't respond it would fall to its doom below. She could only hope. Her zoid couldn't stand to battle much longer and she knew neither could her opponent.

It went very much how he had expected it too. Aside from that she had known what he was doing the entire time. It was becoming a nuisance. The fact that she was always a step ahead of him made this battle all the more grueling. As he began to drop towards the earth below him, his middle legs shot up as he twisted his body around, without the additional weight and momentum of the Zaber fang, he would have no problem hanging on.
Now one of his rear legs was damaged. Two inoperable and one with minor damage. He couldn't take much more of this punishment. More importantly, he knew she couldn't either. Her movement would be severely hampered by now. He made his way across the bottom of the platform, climbing back up silently on the other. Now they would find out why it was a stealth type zoid. The legs coiled back again as he kept his eyes closely on the opponent. It would only be another few seconds before she would be expecting to hear the impact. He had to act quickly. The legs shot out again, leaping towards his prey. This time, due to the massive damage to his legs, he decided to go for a more destructive approach. As he neared his target he opened the mandibles wide, wide enough to get the zaber fang's hind leg between them, and instantly closed them, effectively removing the leg from the rest of the zoid. Immediately after this, he swung his two middle left legs, in essence, backhanding the opponent's zoid, hitting it hard to the left. The strength from these two undamaged legs should be enough to in the least knock it down. Just getting up for her would be a chore now.

The Zaber fang moved in a circle ready to bolt. She didn't like not being able to see her opponent so she was on edge. She made sure she could see each corner of the arena. The Zaber Fang's legs were tense ready to spring. Amaya was going to take advantage of her Zoid's fast reflexes and speed. She didn't see the zoid as soon as she had hoped. She saw it out of the corner of her eye and was ready to spring into action. When it attacked the Zaber Fang jumped back barely avoiding the oncoming attack and then it sprung upward over the claws like before except just barely. Its back claw hit one of the swiping legs and used it to jump higher so it was on the zoids back again. Landing on the zoid's head the Zaber Fang dug into the Zoid's back and head clawing fiercely and biting at any leg joint it could reach, mostly the middle two.

Kevin groaned again, moving the controls almost as if his very life depended on it. The zoid began shaking around violently, trying to dislodge the cat and its claws. It failed to work however. He was growing so tired of this battle. He didn't expect to win it for the past while anyway.
With a sudden jerk of the controls the spider again jumped into the air, leaping towards the ledge. As soon as he made it over the ledge, he again began to roll his body around, making it to where the opponent was below him and would land first. This time, he would make no grab for the ledge, instead he merely stuck all eight legs out to the sides to prevent the opponent from being able to go around him. No matter what the Zaber Fang did this time, it was over. However, if she acted correctly, she could guarantee her victory.

The Zaber fang held on tightly as the the zoid beneath it bucked wildly. She knew where this would lead however. He had tried this tactic before and she thought him an idiot to try it again. Her grip loosened over time preparing for that leap she knew she had to take. As soon as the spider was airborne the Zaber made a leap of faith. She had jumped soon enough so the upper part of the zoid was on the ledge, but she had to scramble to get up. Eventually the Zaber Fang got back on the ledge and jumped away from it making sure there was no chance of a surprise attack.
She was sure the spider had fallen to its doom, but she wouldn't take any chances.

A sudden and loud crash shook the arena. Upon inspection anyone could clearly see the large spider zoid on its back, a spider shaped indent on the earth. Kevin sighed heavily, leaning back. "Well, I lost." He said quietly. He checked the systems again, realizing it would take him some time to get him operational again.
"Its a good thing i'd been working on other ideas. I think its time I began selling and trading these designs. I could make a pretty penny designing zoids for people." He said to himself. "Maybe I should just do that rather than piloting one." As he lay there thinking, the crowd cheered for the victor, losing themselves in the moment.

Amaya was glad to finally have gained a victory. "You did great. I was glad to battle you." Amaya said over the comlink before the judge spoke. "Amaya is the winner!" The crowd cheered and Amaya left the area. She was tired and she needed some major repairs to her zoid. She wasn't going to waste anytime getting ready for her next battle. [exit]
