Jason moved his Zoid into the city, after going to his Grandfather's Funeral he wanted to take his mind off of things.(Which was kinda hard to do seeing as how his Zoid belonged to his grandfather) "Well Lockon, here we are Romeo city basically the base of Zoid battles." Jason said speaking to his Zoid, Lockon seemed to grumble in acknolegement. Jason sighed as he looked for some place to allow Lockon to rest, the old Zoid may have had a lot of energy in it, but Jason still liked to treat him with respect and allow him times to rest.
"Okay, Lockon how about we set down here and and you rest for a while." Lockon grumbled again and Jason piloted him to a empty lot and allowed him to lie down. Jason opened the cockpit and got out, "I'll be back later Lockon, try to get some rest," Jason said before closing the Hatch. Lockon rested his head in his paws and Jason jumped down, the Zoid seemed to be as sadden by the lost of his last owner as Jason was. He hopped that a few battles or sometime away from Kichiru would allow him to feel better but sadly Lockon was still in mourning.
Jason walked out onto the street, looking back at Lockon, he wondered what kind of people where in this town. "Well, only one way to find out," he said aloud before walking down the street.

So there he was, in the hustle and bustle of the big city. A much different atmosphere than what he grew up in. But then again, he was used to being in big cities by this point, after all, he is a globetrotting mercenary. Some of his work was dirty, bloody perhaps, but it allowed him to eat and sleep wherever he pleased. That was the upside but the downside was that it ate away at his conscience, no matter how hard he tried to pretend that he didn't have one. But to look at it from another perspective, he had eliminated a good number of bad men in the world and that was the only thing that kept him from painting himself a bad guy.
As he walked down the street, he saw an oddly dressed character. But then again he oddly dress himself. The kid stuck out like a sore thumb, him and his shiny Zaber Fang. This kid was definitely going to be trouble or at least, trouble was going to find him. No matter how hard the Romero City Police Department tried, they couldn't stop the majority of the zoid hijackings and zoid pilot assassinations. Hell, even Dmitri had been commissioned by the RCPD a number of times in order to stop it. No matter how many times Dmitri stopped the crooks, more would just pop up in their place. Now he had a chance to stop a hijacking before it even happened.
He approached the older kid, appearing to be in his late teens. Dmitri, who was much smaller, was not intimidating in size, but the look in his eyes were very subtle yet fierce. An odd combination to say the least.
"I think you so go now....or at least, hide your zoid..." Dmitri looked around as his solemn tone of voice continued. "It'd be better if you left though..."

Jason noticed the boy come up to him, he thought it was odd someone would tell him to leave without even knowing him. "Why would I want to leave? I guess I can understand hiding the Zoid as anyone might try and steal it but...why would I have to leave?" He asked looking at the boy,"Maybe this town is more dangerous then I thought... excluding the Zoid battles..." Jason thought to himself waiting a reply from the boy.
Jason thought it might be a good idea to introduce himself, "I'm Jason.... and thats Lockon," He said motioning toward the Zoid which seemed to be watching Jason, it was so over protective for an old Zoid. Jason sighed inwardly at this thought, an over protective Zoid, either he was going insane or he had a really good connection with him. Jason glanced at Lockon over his shoulder making sure the Zoid didn't roar or something and scare away the kid.

Zoid theft was not his area of expertise. Rather, he preferred the easier route - smaller payoff, smaller risk. Still, he'd made his entire lifestyle off of the penny of another man, and he was damn good at it. After all, he'd learned from the best, and his skills were the evidence of that. He currently held a pocketful of cash that he'd taken from various patrons, and he was wearing clothes that were stolen from a local shop. His home, even, was paid a year in advance, from the apartment owner's own pocket.
Nevertheless, he was the kind of person who was satisfied, and would still do his own thing, whether he needed to, or not. It allowed for all sorts of advanced preparation, and it kept him mentally and physically in shape.
Tugging at the otherwise tight collar, he spotted... a Zoid. His interest piqued for a few moment, he approached, gingerly, feet moving soundlessly along the earth, drawing him towards the two boys and their relevant source of argument. No, he wasn't one to go snooping, but it was always easier to steal from those who weren't expecting it.
For this inclement weather, he was wearing an almost skin-tight black shirt, leaving his shoulders exposed - even though the sleeves trailed down his arms - and fingerless black gloves, for his upper body. He preferred to be able to feel the things he was touching, and one lost that when you wore real gloves.
'Baggy' black pants, with numerous pockets that held only god knows what in them topped the outfit, though he had a nice black cloth wrapped around his waist to keep his pants off the bottoms of his feet. One of the biggest rules of running? Do not let anything trip you up. A rule he would swear by.
There were many targets - and without even the atypical 'nudge' that most pickpockets had to use as a distraction, he liberated two more wallets, palming them without flourish or hesitation. He could be a stage magician, as seamlessly as he'd pulled it off. "You shouldn't tell other people what to do." He said, quietly, after both had said their piece. "It's his choice to do as he wants, right?" The question left hanging, as the boy gave them both a smile.

"A Zaber Fang. An older model, a classic." The young boy analyzed the components of the zoid as he scanned it with his eyes, relaying the information to his short term memory just in case this guy was dumb enough to have it stolen. That way he could at least identify it later on.
"Why leave..? I don't think you have enough skill to fight off bandits... it would be a shame for your zoid to be stolen..."
Dmitri was going to continue to speak his mind to the unassuming boy before him, but he had been cut off right in the middle of his sentence. He looked at the next boy who approached, very cautious, very observant, very intelligent. Dmitri didn't like the presence that was given off by the guy, even though he had no real reason to not like him. But then again Dmitri didn't like many people and this could just be one of them.
"I'm telling him..I'm asking him. I just don't feel like going through the work of getting his zoid back if it's stolen. I'm just not in the mood." Dmitri's locked with the new guy's. "So what's your angle? I'm pretty sure you know of the zoid theft problem. He looks like a novice when it comes to zoids, a novice who might not be able to handle himself against more than one guy at a time...why wouldn't you try to help him? He looks like a target. A big six foot, dark clothed target."
Dmitri sighed, knowing that his point wasn't getting across and took a few steps away from the two. "I know I'm young, but..I know what the world is like and how things work."

Jason listened to the boy as he spoke, he either was 100% sure someone was going to steal it...or he was going to do it himself. Jason saw another kid coming, he spoke something about not telling others what to do, "Well while that is true, I think I'll move my Zoid, just in case." Jason said, looking back to the first boy, "And just so you know, I am in the Intermediate level of Hand-to-hand combat I'm pretty sure I can handle a few thugs." Jason said a hint of annoyance seeping into his voice towards the end.
Jason started to move back to his Zoid, he wanted to be near it, it was the last thing he hand of his Grandfather and he wasn't going to lose it....not now. "So what brings you two around here..." He said, trying to make a bit of conversation for a while. He leaned against Lockon's leg, he could feel Lockon's aura and that comforted him. "Anyone have any good ideas where I can hide him?" He asked pointing at Lockon, he didn't like putting Lockon underground or anything but it would be for the best.

"Typically, that kind of person makes people wary in the first place." He said, softly, keeping his voice gentle and his smile in place. He wasn't one to overstep his bounds - in anything, really - so when the other took a couple steps away, he didn't follow. "Besides, I think the police could handle a missing zoid. I doubt they would need much help. Being full grown adults, and all." Which, of course, was a total crock. He knew that kids - especially people around his age - could accomplish things that adults could only hope to achieve.
But that didn't mean he wouldn't give them some credit. Otherwise they might start making themselves feel bad!
Tilting his head slightly, he looked at the Zoid. "You could just check it in to a garage. That is typically safe. Most thefts happen out in the open, not in the safety of a specific holding area." He added, with a subtle nod.
"And I'm sure he means fend off bandits in your Zoid." Another helpful interlude from Caleb, negotiator of the obvious.
Tilting his head back a little, he looked up towards the sky. It was at least a nice day out - he could all but feel the slight amount of tension in the air. The smaller one - the one so certain of his ability to reclaim lost zoids - seemed pensive, which was all well and good. He had no real desire to deal with whatever angst and anger he was withholding, certainly some battered past that kept him on his toes.
"Tell you what, Jason. We'll have a battle, later, and then you can show him the skills you'd use to defend your zoid. That sounds like both fun and profit, yes?" He asked, slipping those zoids into his back pocket. "And don't worry, I don't use fliers, either." He added, so that the other would know that at least it would be an interesting fight.

"Hand to hand combat means nothing when you have a gun." Dmitri quickly drew his colt .45 from his holster, which had been subtly hidden behind his jacket and then swiftly put it back in its rightful resting place. "Not even a professional runner could dodge a bullet.."
A battle? Between Jason and the mystery kid. It seemed as if the fight would prove to be interesting, considering that Dmitri had no idea what kind of zoid that the mystery kid was going to use. The old Zaber Fang model was quite a piece of machinery back in its heyday, but now it was nothing more than relic, a reminder of how zoids have changed from way back when. With Jason's restored zoid, Dmitri was a bit anxious to see how he would perform in a battle and what kind of strategy that he would implement.
Dmitri thoughts trailed off for a second and he eventually found himself grounded, back to Planet Zi. The whole situation was becoming quite...annoying yet amusing for the boy. Maybe it would be in his best interest to observe the little skirmish, just to take in what their fighting styles are like, just in case he would ever face they in battle himself.

Jason kept leaning against Lockon, he wondered what the first boy was going on about. "Hand to hand combat means nothing when you have a gun."[/i] The boy pulled out a weapon from a hidden holster, causing Jason to slowly stand at full attention, but then he then put it back into it's holster and spoke yet again. "Not even a professional runner could dodge a bullet.."[/i]
Jason pondered this for a moment, "Point well taken..." He said, he still didn't know the boys name and therefore couldn't use his name to refer to him. Jason shifted his focus to the second boy, he had suggested a garage which sounded good, but then he also suggested a Zoid battle. To this Lockon shifted slightly almost as if to look at the challenger, Lockon may have been old but he still couldn't really say no to a battle. Jason sighed inwardly before replying, "Sounds interesting...." Again Jason was pestered with the fact that he still didn't know their names, "I haven't had a battle since getting back from my Grandfathers funeral...But I would be happy to show you what I...WE can do." Jason said, he had a small grin on his face.
"And I'm sure Lockon here is itchin' for a battle... he's weird like that." Lockon didn't seem to like this, he grumbled and shifted his gaze to Jason, or at least the best he could seeing as how Jason was leaning against his front leg. "Just kidding Lockon," Lockon grumbled a bit more and then let his head rest on top of his paws once more.

"You'll take it easy on me, won't you? I'm not that experienced..." He said, with a very sincere smile touching his face. He gave him a little bit of a bow, before turning to the gun-wielding boy. A strange thing had happened, when he drew that gun. Rather than tensing, his fingers actually loosened, and his eyes hardly flicked in his direction. Judging by the distance, the lack of any breeze, and a distinct lack of tension in the other boy's fingers, this was not a threat.
The tactician in him gave him that evaluation - he'd been ready to retaliate, but had not done so. There was no violence in this moment, and he was certainly not going to be one to start a brawl here in the street. It would be redundant, and besides, someone might get hurt!
Leaning forward a bit, he shook his head at the random display of gunnery. People always thought bullets were necessary! In his sleeve, precisely where they always were, were simple, albeit perfectly balanced throwing knives. They wouldn't make an appearance if he could help it - he preferred the nonviolent methods over the violent ones. But if that gun had been aimed anywhere in his direction, one would have been loosed without the slightest bit of hesitation.
They were on spring-loaded ejectors, and he could drop them into his hand without making so much as a sound. It'd be a surprise - but that, was of course, how he operated.
"Let's go to the registration office then, shall we?" He offered them both a happy little smile, and gestured. He was going to make certain that dear Jason was in between the two of them.

Dmitri looked at both of the boys, just for a quick glance. For some odd reason, he felt that this little skirmish between the two could easily become something more than just that. With the clouds rolling on by and the lack of a contract, he had nothing to do with his spare time. Why not watch a couple of novice pilots fight? Well, he was not that experience to call himself an ace, but it was highly unlikely that either of them had been in as many battles as himself. That was a fact or an estimate, a very calculated estimate, but an estimate nonetheless.
The other boy's smile, it seemed so corny and fake, yet sincere. He wanted to believe, he truly did, but something was a little bit off about the kid. He couldn't quite put his finger on, but there definitely something odd with entire situation. It was best to keep your guard up at all times, even if it seems like you're conversing with rather trustworthy people. That was a fact of life, that was what he had learned by firsthand experience.
Dmitri merely nodded at the boy's gesture, it had been decided after all. He would watch their little match, for the sheer amusement of a zoid battle, even though he didn't take much amusement in anything these days he still found zoid battles between amateurs interesting. Inexperienced pilots always had the most epic battles.
With a few steps in the direction of the registration office, he began on his way, in the hopes of seeing a good battle.

Jason nodded to the boy he would soon be battling, "In all truths I've barely battled so we're pretty much at the same level." Jason then climbed up onto Lockon, he opened the keypad and entered his pass code, once the hatch opened Jason entered it.
"Alright Lockon, ready for a battle?" Lockon gave a approving roar to this, and Jason smiled at this, "OK on to the Registration Office," Jason said, and with this Lockon started moving toward the office, careful as to not step on anything.
