Aegis growled softly as she sat in the field, awaiting her foe. The sun was shining brilliantly above with just a few clouds spotting the blue sky.
Azler had replied to the battle request a couple of days ago, and the time was quickly approaching for the battle to begin. With the coordinates exchanged, the rival pilot should be arriving soon, as should the judge from the ZBC.
Thinking about the judge, the man couldn’t help but chuckle. The Judges of the ZBC were possibly one of the most odd things ever, depending on what you got. He had even heard of a couple that had somehow fallen in love with each other. The wonders of the universe…
Glancing around, Wilder spotted something in the distance and pulled Aegis up onto all fours, awaiting to see if it was his designated opponent.

"Azler!" The word was amusing, but it was his name, so it was said with a smile. The screens would flick on, as he established a com link with the combatant. "I will point out that I am not in a Gun Tiger as previously agreed upon." He said, keeping that smile on his face.
He was, after all, a cheerful kind of guy. "I'm sorry - I didn't know this would happen. My Gun Tiger sustained a lot of damage. Luckily..." He patted the command console of his new Glow Fox. "I found a new Zoid. Will that be a problem?" He asked, curiously.

Azler’s eyes flicked to the side as a communication with his opponent came up. A change in Zoid? Clicking a few buttons on his control, the camera’s zoomed in on the approaching Zoid and the man blinked slightly. He then made minute changes to the camera, checking it out as it ran towards him. One note was painfully obvious; no weapons.
~No obvious weapons, and judging by how quickly its approaching, its fast…Great, a melee Zoid…Now for the question of what attack weapons it has…~ Thought the pilot to himself, biting his lip as he mused.
”That’s no problem at all Caleb. The judge should be landing momentarily.” Stated Wilder as he nodded.
And within seconds, his prediction came true as a white capsule plummeted to earth and opened to reveal the judge within.
Area scanned… Battlefield set-up! Caleb Haus vs. Azler Wilder! Battle Mode 0992! Ready?...” Called out the robot from its safe little shell. ”Fight!”

No guns was right. The Capsule came down, and the dust was kicked up massively - it blew over and around the still-moving Glow Fox - and as it passed, he was close. This was a shield liger - another melee fighter. The difference was the chest-mounted cannon, that would allow the Shield Liger to keep him at bay. That, however, was unless he could get some form of cover. He didn't stop, until he reached the even fifty metre starting point.
Once in place, his eyes began to circulate. He had to come up with some form of plan, aside from the usual shoot-and-approach method. After all, that pretty much could not apply when one didn't have a gun.
But he was running out of time.
"Area scanned… Battlefield set-up! Caleb Haus vs. Azler Wilder!..." He could hear it calling, mechanically, out. "Good luck!" He called to Azler, before killing the com-link, and starting to move, left - careful not to approach closer, in case he might break the rules. Battlemode 0992! Ready?... FIGHT!"
His zoid already moving, he pressed the controls in earnest, and shot leftward - the direction he'd been pacing. The tactic was simple. Use the initiated inertia to decrease acceleration time, to help avoid initial gunfire. He was adjusting his movements to bring him close to the Shield Liger, eyes kept wide, in case the Liger decided to come after him, instead of start firing alone, prepared to turn. A Zoid moving this fast had reduced mobility, but if he saw it coming, he could adjust accordingly.

”You too.” Commented back Azler, not even sure if his reply was heard as the communication was cut. Shrugging, the man plugged in his phone and went about adjusting a few settings before hitting play. PrideFlicking his eyes to the side, he spotted the mysterious Glow Fox running to the left of him, picking up speed as it maneuvered quickly, trying to get around the man. However, the major problem with this tactic was closing in. Aegis easily had the advantage with her guns, so a straight approach was going to end badly. That left a wide circle becoming a vortex, moving closer and closer with every rotation until the Fox was within striking distance of the Liger. This pattern would allow it decent dodging skills, though if the Liger was more heavily armed, the Fox wouldn’t be able to do anything. Of course, this was wishful thinking. Biting his lip and smirking a little, Azler gripped his controls and the Liger took off to the right, running parallel to the faster machine. If Caleb wanted to run in circles, Wilder would gladly join him, and with the two of them running opposite directions, it was only a very short matter of time before they collided…

The idea was simple. They were rushing at each other - two hundred and fifty kilometers per hour, and two hundred eighty five kilometers per hour, meant they were going to be colliding at well over five hundred kilometers per hour. It was a rough situation, and they were edging closer, too. It was rough - but ideal, at the same time. He had only around ten seconds to come up with an idea before they went crashing.
He, was not going to waste it. He flicked a button, and the first concealed hip-mounted canister fired. At the same time, the anti-flash shielding slid into place. Less than a second and a half after deployment, the canister exploded in a burst of light and radio / radar-jamming pulses. He adjusted his Glow Fox's movements, concealed by the light. He turned, so he was moving sharply at the Shield Liger... the claws glowing brightly with the power of a strike laser claw.
A strike laser claw that was meant to devastate the side front right area of the zoid, if not, the middling part. He wanted to end it as quickly and efficiently as possible.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/quote] The Fox fired a weapon from its hip and though Azler didn’t know it, it was about to activate in a second and a half. However, most of this time was unneeded. The average human’s reaction time is .15 seconds, but with training, specifically in this case, martial arts, hand to hand combat training where a fraction of a second is enough for most die hard warriors to win in an instant, that time can be lowered. Unbeknownst to his opponent, Wilder had been trained in martial arts all his life, and his reaction time was much faster. As soon as his mind registered that something had been launched from the opposing Zoid, Azler slammed on his controls and using his hands, immediately did two things: The first thing was to slam the Liger’s right paw down to the ground as hard and fast as it could, effectively launching Aegis to the left. The second was to open the side missile compartments and fire them in retaliation. Though the warrior did know that Caleb was merely attempting to blind him, Azler’s only thought was of an assault and thus these two motions were designed for that; the jump to the left side a dodge from the incoming “fire“, and the activation of the missiles a retaliation to the "attack". With the oncoming Zoid aiming for his middle, the left dodge with the right activated missile pod would position the firing weaponry at the previous center of Aegis, essentially launching the eight missiles straight towards its foe as it jumped forward, if the strike worked, which it hopefully would as the Fox had leaped towards the Liger in an attempt to use its Strike Claws and thus its ability to move was nonexistent when in the air, all eight missiles should impact its face, shoulders, and body quite literally head-on.

Caleb's movements were not performed until AFTER the flash of light - his adjustments were not made before, where Azler's were. Caleb, who also had training in knife combat mastery, was no slouch himself where reaction time was the issue. Nevertheless, the zoid moved to the left, which meant, as Caleb's attack was for the place he had been, he'd be arcing a few scant meters to the side. This had two effects:
Caleb's attack would be off by a short distance, and his attack range would be limited not to the front right area, but to the back.
As they had not been running directly at each other - rather, a circular pattern, a dodge to the left without changing one's forward facing directory to the right would fire the missiles to the side of the fox, considering the Fox had intentionally adjusted his own angling to cut through the circle itself: 'He turned, so he was moving sharply at the Shield Liger'. This meant, that under the concealing light, he'd affected his own movements, which Azler could not be aware of, as it had been done under the effects of his flashbangs.
Since Azler could not have been aware of the change in trajectory, when the Fox came crashing down, it would be on the right hind leg. Claws that had been meant to decimate the frontal section, would come down on the back. This could be quite devastating to the opponent, considering it was currently throwing missiles into vast nothingness.
Knowing full and well this would be problematic, his assault would be continued, even if it was now further back than he'd initially intended - he had to swerve with the claws in the Liger to latch on to the damage it would have made - which would make it facing the same direction as the Liger - just... from behind.

(To make sure I don't get 3 Day'd for this, I PMed Caleb a while ago and am still waiting on a response if we should call this a tie or continue on. Once I have been notified, I will edit this post.)
