Mission: Test Drive

Awaiting, almost as if in the center of the entire desert, was a large Iron Kong, its hulking mass almost statuesque in a way.

The soft wind blew the dust and sand that laid upon the desert around, creating small whirlwinds and miniature storms. It was a wonder that the large Zoid didn’t simply sink into the soft ground it stood upon.

The Iron Kong, a truly mighty Zoid, awaited its foes with a solemn and patient stance.

(OOC: You can scratch Velvet off the list. She isn't coming.)

From out of the miniature sandstorm came the head of a Command Wolf followed by it's body and lastly, it's tail. The wolf trotted over to the hulking mass that was the Iron Kong. Right from the bat he could tell he was going to have any problems out-running tis particular zoid. The wolf stopped 10 meters fom the ape-like zoid. Jager opened a COM link with the pilot of the Iron Kong.
"Hello, my name is Jager. May I have the honor of hearing yours?" Jagerasked through the COM getting the formalities over with.

Ai had accepted a mission in the desert and now that she had her zoid Ai headed to the desert. She arrived to see a command wolf and an impressive looking iron kong. Ai was piloting a green and black shield liger DCS. She opened communications with the two zoids so she could introduce herself. "Hello. I'm Ai Otome, pleasure to meet you" Ai said. The command wolf was her partner for this fight if Ai remembered the mission correctly. She waited for the two pilots to say something and she was waiting for the other members of the mission to arrive. This mission was going to be very interesting.

After accepting a mission, Moto started to head towards the area where it was to take place at, which was the desert. Coming upon the scene, he saw three zoids: a command wolf, an iron kong, and a strangely colored shield liger DCS. Upon arriving, he kicked back inside his cockpit to relax and opened communications with the other three. One was Ai, his girlfriend who had taken the mission as well but he didn't know until he saw her. "Motozai Toramizu," he said introducing himself to all so that he didn't sound like he knew Ai at all. He thought that she didn't like it when he displayed public affection to her, so he didn't but instead just waved at her with a smile.

”I am…Tristan Fari. It…is a pleasure to do battle with you.” Replied a male voice from within the Kong. For a moment, it almost seemed solemn.

With a creaking sound that did nothing but confirm the sheer mass of the great Zoid, the Kong stood on its hide legs momentarily and beat its chest before setting back down on its fists, turning towards the three opponents as a flash impacted the ground away from the four pilots, the dust flying forth and revealing a rising white capsule, opening to show the Judge.

Area scanned… Battlefield set-up! Called out the robot from its safe little shell. ”Team Veil versus-

Before the robot could finish its sentence, a second comet-like projectile bashed into it and instantly destroyed it, raising up from the ground, revealing an identical capsule, yet nothing alike apart from shape.

“This battle has been taken over by the Backdraft Group!” Spoke the Dark Judge from its shell. “Team Idiots vs. Team Gravedigger! Battle Mode 0999! Ready? FIGHT!”

For moment after moment, the world was silent as the wind blew across the dust.

”Please…forgive me…” Said Tristan.

Raising up the Kong’s left arm, the wrist cannon targeted and fired off three shots towards the Command Wolf.

"What-" The shots scorched the air as they flew in the wolf's direction, impacting with the zoid after a split-second flash of purple and creating a large cloud of smoke and dust. Engulfing the wolf whole. After the immediate shock two green energy projectiles shot out from the cloud of smoke and dust and rocketed in the Iron Kong's direction. The smoke faded and revealed the wolf, unharmed and unscaived.
"What is the meaning of this?" Jager erupted through the open channel that connected the four pilots' COM's together. The Command Wolf growled, acknowledging Jager's feelings in the matter. "What is the backdraft organization doing here? What do you Cut-throats want?!"

Ai saw Moto's zoid and when she saw him Ai smiled happily. "Hello Motozai. Pleasure to meet you" Ai said pretending that she didn't know him in public. Ai was ready for a fight and right as the judge was about to announce the battle a dark judge took over. The backdraft team was here and taking over another battle. Ai saw the command wolf get hit with a few shots from the iron kong. She cut communications with the iron kong and looked at the command wolf. Luckily she had heard the pilot's name earlier. "Jager! Are you alright? Darn backdraft team" Ai said. She lined up a shot locking on to the iron kong's guns with her DCS unit and fired three rounds. Ai then started moving her zoid so she wouldn't get hit as easily.

After introducing himself, he noticed Ai had acknowledged him and acted just like he did, never met before. Showing up, Moto wondered what everyone was waiting for, until he saw something come from the sky. Apparently the Backdraft Group was here, but for what reason he didn't care, he stood where he was and exited communications with the Iron Kong. Seeing this, he didn't mind as long as it was a fun time that he would have with this Iron Kong user. Once the battle had started, the Iron Kong fired shots at the Command Wolf, hoping to eliminate one of us.

Out of the smoke, he saw shots fire back, and knew that the command wolf was alright in the plume of smoke. Looking at Ai's new zoid, he saw her fire off a couple of rounds at the Iron Kong before running. "Guys, I'm gonna need you to distract him so I can get to close range and strike with my lazer claws alright? Let's go Liger," he told them as he started moving away from the field for a few seconds before heading in the direction that the Iron Kong's back was facing to get close to him.

”I…have to do this…There‘s no choice…”

Raising the Iron Kong’s right fist, a large energy shield enveloped the beast’s body and nullified the pair’s onslaught. With the Zoid’s advanced radar system, a soft noise notified the pilot to the Zero’s movements in its attempts to get behind him.

”Please, the Zoid that still has communications open…Tell your friend to cover your back, and the other one to change his direction…They’ll be coming soon…“ Said Tristan. “You can’t win, but at least you won’t die…”

Even though he gave warning to the only pilot who was still listening to him, the Zoid’s left shoulder mounted launcher opened and revealed 10 missiles, quickly firing off six of the self guided rocket bombs, three aimed for the Wolf and intending to disable its shield, the remaining trio flying towards the Shield Liger with the same purpose.

"What? What do you mean?" Jager was attacked before he got an answer. The three projectiles homed him in directly, easy to blast away if you were fine with taking the risks. The wolf's AZ double-barreled cannon fired three shots, completely destroying the missiles only a couple of meters way. He had more important thing to do than to figure out how many meters away they were. "Frontal and sneak attacks aren't gonna work against this thing." Jager said through the open COM link between the other two pilots. He shifted the Command Wolf's position and started to run at it. "Shield Liger, use your fangs and join me in the attack!" Jager asked the Shield Ligers' cooperation and lunged at the Iron Kong. It's missiles would be ineffective at that range so it had to use shorter ranged weapons. Those would be weak enough for the E Shield to stop! Hopefully, the Shield Liger figured it out too and was right behind him.

The iron kong had a shield as well which took Ai by surprise. Motozai had run and was attacking the iron kong from behind. The pilot of the command wolf spoke and Ai nodded in agreement. "Roger" Ai said. She followed the command wolf and activated her strike fangs. Even though she was helping the command wolf in an assault Ai had her own idea. Even if they did manage to take out the shield it would just recharge so Ai aimed her fangs at the arm that had used the shield. Hopefully her attack would work and then they could wrap the fight up.

With the details from Jager, Moto still was going along with his plan and waited for him to make the call so that he could sneak up. Sure frontal and sneak attacks won't work, but if he's busy being distracted with frontal attacks, it will work. About to say something, he heard Jager say something over the intercom, signaling his chance. "Shield Liger, use your fangs and join me in the attack!" he told Ai as he started to charge at him.

As soon as he heard the word 'Shield Liger' he knew he had to go to make the attack on it. Now a bit behind the Iron Kong on his left, Moto started to push Liger full throtle towards the zoids. "Come on Liger! Let's do this! Keep up the work so you can distract him guys," he said as he. Charging up his claws, he headed for the missle launcher, trying to take it out and hoping he would. Coming from behind, he leaped into the air, making sure his trajectory was correct so he could take out the missle launcher.

”You should have listened to me…”

Without warning, three Stealth Vipers erupted from the ground without a single sign of warning; two behind the Shield Liger and Command Wolf, another in front of the Liger Zero, and from them each was launched two rockets immediately towards the leaping trio.

With the shields that protected them only covering the front, the two twin assaulting units would find their backs greatly damaged, as would the Liger Zero, being easily flung back by the explosions that erupted from the impacts to its shoulders and stomach.

Activating his shield, the Iron Kong smashed the Liger and Wolf down akin to the way the Shield Liger normally would, preventing their attacks from getting through quite easily while throwing them backwards and into the missiles that were incoming.

Needless to say, if they survived, they would be quite damaged.

As the stealth viper's erupted from their sub-terrainian hiding place Jager's cockpit became a circus of flashing lights. Blips on the radar warned the wolf of it's attackers. At the split-second the blips appeared the wolf paid it no mind and continued on it's attack. But then the radar turned a crimson-red and flashed rapidly, indicating a fast projectile heading his way. With no doubt that the Shield Liger was also under attack by a missile Jager arched the controls and activated his shields. The Wolf rammed the Shield Liger out of the way as the missile homed in behind him. The missiles after the Shield Liger impacted with the Wolf's shields while one the missiles trailing after the Wolf hit it dead-on. The other impacted with the Kong. Sending it into a 360* spin until it crashed hard on the ground beside the Iron Kong. The ram, however allowed the Shield Liger another try at the Iron Kong. The Kong's shield would need to recharge once more. And the Shield Liger was staring it directly in the face.

Ai's computer screens started flashing and she took a look. Two enemies and two projectiles were coming towards her. Before the missile hit Ai her shield liger was knocked out of the way by the command wolf. The command wolf had taken the hit for Ai but luckily it had a shield. "Thanks a bunch, I owe ya one Jager" Ai said. Thanks to the command wolf Ai had a chance to attack the iron kong again. Ai activated the strike fangs of her shield liger and aimed for the arm of the iron kong which had the shield and at the same time Ai aimed her DCS unit at the other weapons on the Iron kong and fired another three rounds meaning six shots. Her goal here was to not only take out the shield but hopefully some of the other weapons.
