Moderation is a big part of this site. Oftentimes, members go out of their limits and post activities or movements that would be considered godmodding. When these disputes come up, which seems to be quite frequently, it is often quite chaotic and hard for all RPers involved. These are a new MANDATORY set of guidelines to be used in such a situation. It'll be more organized, and more importantly, easier.
NOTE: These do not apply to moderations involving inactive RPers, such as those who violate the 3-day rule. Obviously, those people cannot be found to talk to or get to post. This set applies only to instances of godmodding that need to be settled.
1.) First off, talk to the person involved. Most of the cases I've seen are where one member blows the whistle on something another member did, then goes to a moderator before even talking to the other member. Most of the time, it's quite easy and possible that it's a misunderstanding, or the offending member will realize the error of their ways. Please contact them before contacting a moderator.
2.) If that fails to work, you may seek moderation. First, start a thread in the Staff Support, under the Moderation/Judgement subboard. At the top of that thread, post a link to the Roleplaying thread, then write out your complaint IN DETAIL beneath it. The 2nd post of that thread will be the offending member's defense.
3.) In order for the offending member to know moderation has been requested, post in the RP thread with a short OOC message giving the link to the moderation thread and telling them to go there. OOC posting is allowed here, because when the moderation has been settled, you will edit this OOC post and write out your RP post beneath it. Do not delete the original text of the OOC post, so we know you didn't delete it and make a new post.
4.) Once both you and the offending RPer have posted in the moderation thread, it is time for a staff to get involved. Either ask a moderator or up in the Chatango to go look at it, or PM one if you have a favorite. They will post either their moderation or any questions they have, and a discussion will begin. Quickly, they will hammer out a moderation.
5.) If you cannot contact your RP partner live over the chatbox, or through PMs, you can post the moderation thread and have a discussion there. If you manage to settle it, then you don't need to request a staff to look at it. If, however, you post the proper moderation thread and a notice in the RP thread, and after 3 days the offender has not posted in the moderation thread, the standard 3-day-rule applies. They are removed from the battle.
