Shadow sat in the cockpit of his Lightning Saix at the edge of the arena where he'd just left the elevator. He gazed out across the field to where his opponent's zoid would be emerging any time now. Calmly, he awaited his opponent's arrival and the start of the match via the Judge.

Amaya waited patiently for the elevator to bring her to the top of the arena. When the elevator doors opened The zaber fanged stepped onto the arena. She had no intentions of losing this battle as she had done her last. "So your my opponent. A lLightening Saix, impressive." Amaya said as she stepped towards the center of the arena. "How about you let me go first? Or if you really want to you go first." Amaya said as the judge capsule appeared.
With a loud crash and the stirring of mass clouds of dust the judge was revealed. "The immediate area is now a battle zone. The seven mile radius around this area is now off limits. Area scanned, Battlefield secure. This area is now a designated battle zone. This entire platform is now off limits. Area scanned... Battlefield secure. Shadow versus Amaya. Battle mode 0240. Ready... Fight!"

Deciding to hold off on entering his apathy state, Shadow smirked as he heard his opponent's taunt. He set his Saix into a ready stance so he could move at a moment's notice and replied, "Sure, if you think you're good enough to be a zoid warrior and not a simple pilot." His Saix growled in agreement as the two prepared for another brawl.

Amaya chuckled and slowly moved forward. She knew she was outmatched in speed so she was going to have to do her best to come up with an advantage. She slowly walked forward and then paced in a crescent like pattern. It was like she was stalking her prey, but she was making sure she wasn't standing still. She didn't know what to expect and she needed a close range battle to initiate, but she wasn't going to be the one to do it. She was going to let the lightening saix come to her or at least until she came up with a plan.
She smiled when an idea entered her head. The zaber fang charged forward closing the distance and then paced in a crescent pattern again never turning its back on the lightening saix. It had decreased the distance between the two and it was prepared to attack. Finally after a little pacing she made her attack. The zaber fang charged forward and feinted to the right as it came close to the zoid. At the last minute it turned towards the Saix and lunged, when it did so it was next to the Saix so if it hit the Saix it would be in the side. It prepared to dig its massive fangs into the lightening saix's body if it hit its mark.

Seeing his opponent surge forward, Shadow prepared to send his own zoid running as well. However, to his surprise it stopped his charge and began to circle. This tactic slightly confused Shadow and put him on guard enough to go into his "Apathy State". As the zoid neared him, he saw it suddenly rush again, he didn't move as it feinted his left and then charged in at him again from his right instead.
Suddenly an idea occured to Shadow, and rather than dodge the Zaber's attack with his acceleration, he dropped onto his back as it came in to bite him and used the Zaber's momentum against it, kicking up with the Saix's hind legs under the jaws and torso area pushing the zoid up, and letting the momentum carry it.

Amaya growled she hated these stupid edged platforms, but at least this time she had a chance to get a draw or a victory. The Zaber fangs back legs flew downward, the claws digging into the lightening Saix. The two tumbled close to the edge, but neither went over the edge. The Zaber fang was on top of the Saix.
As they skidded to a halt the Zaber fang jumped off, backwards. Its back claws dragging across the Saix's exposed stomach. It brought down a front claw striking at the chest of the Saix. Amaya chuckled. "I'm not going to lose this match." Amaya said preparing for a counter from Shadow.

Shadow didn't show any emotion in his apathetic state as his zoid was dragged along and the Zaber cut some gashes in the belly of the Saix. The damage was decent, but not enough to stop the scythe. The momentum of the Zaber's jump caused the Saix to roll over, and Shadow was quick to take advantage of this to dash at the Zaber, which was still airborne from its jump. Using the Saix's top class acceleration, it leapt diagonally upwards with outstretched paws at the zoid, closing the distance almost instantly. Its paws aimed for the front shoulders of the jumping Zaber and were ready to dig in if they connected, while its jaws aimed to go under the Zaber's head and bite the exposed neck area.

Amaya was surprised to see the lightening saix recover so quickly, but she wasn't going to be defeated. The zaber tiger's paws rose slightly and when the Saix was close enough brought them down hard in a stabbing motion. One paw aimed for the oncoming Zoid's face and the other at its shoulder. The Zaber fang brought sharp claws up aiming for the stomach of the attacking Saix. It was attempting to hurt him from the front and underside. She was going to make sure she turned this counter against him.

Shadow wasn't surprised to see his opponent prepare an overhead smash with its front claws and as such, he immediately implemented his counter. quickly, he changed the target of his outstretched claws to the elbow joints of the zoid and dug the claws into them, potentially jamming or even destroying the elbow gears to stop the blow. As the claws hooked into them, he then used the quickness of the front legs to pull his zoid's head in even faster, throwing off the timing making it so if the elbow joints didn't jam he'd only be hit in the mid-back by the claws. The quick pull also made the Zaber fang miss its intended target using its rear legs, instead, the legs scraped the inner things of the Saix's legs. More importantly however, this made it so the the Saix's head was inbetween the the legs and head allowing the Saix to bite the exposed under neck area with its fangs, and even threw off the balance of the Zaber so that when the landed, the Zaber would be on its back.

The Zaber fangs claws jammed not managing to the damage Amaya had intended. As they came crashing down she did the only thing she could do with her zoid. She kicked. The Zaber fang could was kick. The zoid brought its back legs down and then forced them upward into the Saix's body attempting to knock it off. Meanwhile the Zaber Fang's head pulled away and attempted to bite down on the Saix's legs, its sharp fangs aiming for joints. The pulling back made it harder for the Saix to hit anything vital. It did do some damage, but not as much as it could have.

Shadow hadn't managed to rip out the Zaber's throat with his attack, and the kick knocked him back a fair distance. However, the attack was still a great success. By kicking him away while his claws were gripping into the elbow gears of the Zaber, his opponent had more or less forced the claws to be ripped out of the elbow joints, doing serious damage to them, and probably destroying them. The Zaber would be crippled unable to use its front legs. As he saw the head come to bite, Shadow used the fleetness of the Saix to pull away from the Zaber faster than it could bite. It ran away from the still downed opponent stopping near the center of the arena. He turned to watch the zoid, wanting to assess whether or not his thoughts were correct about the damage to the zoid's front elbow gears.

The Zaber fang quickly got to its feet. It was easy to tell one of its arms had been disabled or at least close to. The zoid was still able to use one of its front legs. The Zaber Fang didn't move though. It stood there waiting for something to happen. Eventually the Zaber fang lowered into a lung like position and waited. It showed no other hint of movement other then that.

The Lightning Saix kept its distance, and started to walk back and forth along the center area of the arena. Like a predator watching its prey while it waited for it to fall, keeping at least 3 zoid lengths between them so he could easily dash away and avoid the attack when it came. The other damaged elbow would begin to wear down without the ability to repair it and would break if he waited. Even if it tried to ease it, the elbow gear constantly had pressure applied to it and therefore was stressing itself every time it moved or even was held still in an effort to keep the leg stiff. He was in no rush, in his apathetic state, boredom and impatience were non-existent.

Amaya knew she had to do something fast or she would lose this battle. The zoid lurched forward dragging the injured leg. When it was about a zoid's length away from the Saix its body lowered going for a low run. When it was barely a half a zoid's length away it went lower and when it was close enough it lunged forward. A low lung. It struck at the Zoid's head with sharp fangs and attacked the shoulder blade of the Saix with its left paw aiming to disable the arm. It was trying to take a massive bite out of the Saix's head and destroy the opposing zoid's leg.

As the Zaber began advancing towards his Saix, Shadow did the most sensible thing and backed up. The effort to pull itself forward would put a huge strain on its remaining front leg and with only 2 good back legs, 1 injured front leg, and 1 disabled and dragging front leg the Zaber couldn't move at a good speed anyways. As such, when the Zoid reached the center of the platform, Shadow kept 2 and a half zoid lengths between them.
Thanks to this, he was easily able to avoid the Zaber's desperate, and slower than normal lunge simply by running to the side of the Zaber's broken leg while maintaining his distance. He then began to walk around the zoid, circling it like a shark swims around its prey, once again keeping at least 2 and 1/2 zoid lengths between him. The front leg of his opponent was wearing down, and if his opponent didn't want him to be able to take the Zaber's back he'd have to turn with him and put more stress on the leg. One injured front leg wouldn't be enough to turn the Zaber for a counter attack from behind, especially with other leg dragging.
