Spring Brawl Round 2 (Drago vs. Drake)

[Drago]

The stadium was about half filled for the day's events, only being one of the many rounds to come. The audience had been milling around for a while now, some for about half an hour. Concessions were being sold, and cameras were being set up by the ZBC (Zi Broadcast Corporation). In a few minutes, though, the audience's attention focused on the massive field in front of them, and they started to quiet down. The zoids had arrived!

The doors to the stadium's sides opened up, and the various contestants started to file in one after another, their zoids properly stripped for the contest. Five circular arenas were flat against the ground around the field, level with the floor. After both contestants would arrive and climb into it, it would rise up into the air, and the match would begin!

Drago maneuvered his freshly repaired shield liger onto the platform looking over to where his opponent piloting a tan command wolf will be emerging from. Well seeing as this guy is piloting the same type of zoid as my last opponent was this match can't be too hard I just have to be careful not to let myself get caught off guard this time around.

Drago planted himself about a zoid length from the edge of his side of the arena while he waited for his opponent to appear from the other side of his door and for the judge to come down from his satellite to start the match. Drago's hands were shaking over his controls like a gunfighter getting ready to draw his weapon before his opponent. Drago's shield liger looked up at the sky and let out a roar of anticipation.

[Nathan Drake]

Nathan took slow deep breaths. "Ready... Command Wolf" he said calmly as the two walked into the stadium. He then quickly heard the roar of the crowd. Apparently he was the underdog in this match since his foe had already gained a victory. Command Wolf then quickly leaped into the arena with about 1 zoid length seperating him from the edge. Command Wolf then let out a large howl... it was eager to begin. "Alright... your move first..." Nathan said over the intercom.

"This guy has a Shield Liger... it is faster, heaver, and stronger than my Zoid" Nathan said to himself with a sigh. The only way he has a chance was to out monuver the foe and outsmart it.

[Drago]

The Referee satellite launched down its capsule which whistled through the sky like a bomb as it approached the ground. It landed in the ground leaving a crater behind as its Capsule was level with its lowest point for less than a second before it started to raise up from the ground. Here we go Old friend it is time for us to show them what you are made of.

Once the bottom of the Referee capsule was level with the crater it opened up showing the Ref inside of it. Its Robotic voice was broadcasted through the speaker systems of the stadium The field of this stadium has become a designated Zoid Battle Field and is now restricted! Only competitors and personnel have authorized entry! Danger all others must leave the area at once! Area scanned! Battle Field set up! Dragul Scorpius Yaiba versus The Desert Wolf Nathan Drake. Battle mode 0240. Ready! Fight!.

As the command to begin was uttered Drago's hands went straight for his controls urging his zoid forward a bit before starting to circle the arena using a strategy that his last opponent tried on him. Drago's Liger reached its max speed when it was a few zoid lengths away from his opponents starting location.

The Zoid Commesion Droid landed in the center of the ring. It quickly scanned the area, and the match soon begun. Right off the bat the Shield Liger started to run around the edge of the arena at a very fast speed. Nathan knew his zoid was slower than his, so it would be a dangerous game to chase after him. Though, the foe was running at a fast speed... so just a slight tap would send him towards the ground.

Nathan watched every movement of the Liger. He knew he couldn't let one spot open right now. He traced the Ligers movements by following it around with its head. "This is going to be a tough one... alot harder than the last Command Wolf we fought" he said quietly too his Command Wolf. Things were going to get intense, but Nathan needed to keep a clear head.

[Drago]

Drago approached the command wolf at full speed when he was about one and a half zoid lengths away from the command wolf he slowed down a bit before pouncing at the command wolf going for the kill shot fast swinging down with his right claw aiming for the command wolfs front leg on the side that he was on I may be the faster of us but he has the better acceleration so if I can damage his leg the match will be all but mine

The reason Drago knew that the match could still be won by his opponent was that at the same time he landed a hit on his opponent last round his opponent took out a chunk of his legs frame causing Drago to lose some of his crazy maneuvers that he likes to use to catch his opponent off guard. Yet even crippled Drago still won his last match.

[Nathan Drake]

Then the liger started to slow down. This was a clear sign to Nathan that he was ready to attack and Nathan became fully prepared for it, but this could be a trick by the foe and he could just keep on running. Though, this was not the case. Nathan was right, and the Shield Liger lunged at the front left leg of his wolf.

In an instant Nathan made the Command Wolf jump back causing the lunge to miss him. Then when the Shield Liger was right infront of the Command Wolf while doing his lunge, Nathan made the Command Wolf lunge forward to attack the side of the Liger. He would attempt to slash the Ligers front left leg with his claws and sink his fangs into the Ligers neck, hoping to cut some important wiring in the neck.

[Drago]

Drago watched as the command wolf leaped backwards and then started to lunge forward at him. Drago planted his left paw in the ground causing him to turn while most of his body was in mid air. Drago's turned right as the command wolfs lunge would have hit causing it to miss. Drago's Ligers legs touched the ground as he slid to where the heels of his rear paw were hanging over the edge. Drago then urged the ligers controls forward to get away from the danger zone that is the edge moving himself closer to the flank of the command wolf where He went and pounced again taking a tactic from a lioness on the hunt. Should he catch the Command wolf with his claws and it remain standing He is going to try and take a bite out of the back of the zoid.

[Nathan Drake]

The Shield Liger did a crazy move by planting his left paw on the ground making him do a spin to dodge his lunge. "This guy is good" Nathan said to himself as his Command Wolf compleatly missed the Zoid. That move that the Shield Liger did was good to regain ground, so Nathan decided to try it out. He planted his right paw instead of his left, and turned and slid back the opposite direction of the Shield Liger. Nathan's Command Wolf was right on the edge of the ring, and that is when he noticed that the Liger tried to pounce on him again.

Nathan was fully aware that the enemy was right infront of him, and that he was back againts the edge, but he could use that too his advatage. He was in the Upper Right corner of the stage, and the only way to move was left. Even though his Zoid was slower than the Liger he had faster acceleration, and he was more agile thanks to his lighter weight. Nathan then jumped to his left side, and dodged the attack. The enemy would probably wouldn't have time to react to the dodge and would jump out of the ring. Though, to make sure if he manage to stay in Nathan did the same manuver that he and the Shield Liger did earlier. He then put his right paw on the ground and did a 90 degree spin and sent him back to the Lower Right Corner, and if Shield Liger manage to stay in the ring, Nathan would then piloted the Command Wolf forward sending another lunge at the Shield Liger trying to slash the Shield Liger's legs and bite its back.

Things didn't look so good for the Liger. He could try to do the same manuver earlier to stay in the ring, but if he did it with his left paw he would slid of the Right Corner. If he did it with his right paw he would still be in the ring, but his back would be facing Nathan's Command Wolf... which wouldn't be a good thing when Nathan lunged at him while trying to slash his legs with his claws and bitting his back, and that the Shield Liger would be in the Middle of the Right side Edge of the arena. "Things are going my way" Nathan said with a smile. He knew that the Liger was probably trapped now.

[Drago]

Drago thought better of his lunge where he saw the Command wolfs location planting his rear paws down allowing him to lower his front paws down bringing himself to a dead stop about two zoid lengths from the command wolf. Drago then opened up a com link between him and the command wolf's pilot Hahaha Wow what a rush. Your names Nathan right this is one of the best matches I have ever had it is very rare that I get to meet a person who thinks as strategically as I do unfortunately there has to be a winner to this contest and I intend to be it. No hard feelings right

Drago left the link open to here his if his opponent has anything to say to him while he kept his guard up maneuvering himself so that right behind him is nothing but the center of the ring and the closest he was to any edge of the arena was two a zoid length.

[Nathan Drake]

The Shield Liger stopped its lunge towards Nathan and then he got a message from his foe. "Hahaha Wow what a rush. Your names Nathan right this is one of the best matches I have ever had it is very rare that I get to meet a person who thinks as strategically as I do unfortunately there has to be a winner to this contest and I intend to be it. No hard feelings right"

Then a smirk came over Nathan's face and he said "Your good yourself... but I'm sorry that I'll have to beat you. I saw your match earlier againts Patrick... Dragul. It was a good match... but your going to have your work cut out for you in this match" he said to Dragul and then closing the link. The boy slowly piloted his Command wolf until he was about 2 Zoid lengths from the edge of the arena. He was cautious right now... he had to be on defense and then out smart the foe.

[Drago]

Well I know I will have my work cut out for me with this match well it is your turn to start off the exchange there Nathan and just call me Drago Drago said as he was having issues wiping the smile from his face. Drago backed himself up a bit before turning to keep the command wolf in front of him. Just about everything in this match is in my favor. Lets see My zoid was built for close range combat, I have the stronger, faster, and heavier zoid. The only thing I think we are even on is strategy but lets see which of us is the better at adapting to the situation

[Nathan Drake]

"Alright... I'll go first" Nathan said with a smile. He then slowly started to walk in a cirlce around the Shield Liger. Then all of a sudden that slow walk started to turn into a run and pretty soon he was running at his full speed. Nathan then decelerated again and his sprint turned into a light jog for him, which then went down back into its walking motion. He has hoping to confuse his enemy by his strange movements.

He then stopped his motion and while he was directly behind his foe. He then started to charge straight at the rear of the enemy Zoid, and he quickly went too his full speed.

[Drago]

Drago watched as the command wolf was infront of him turning his head with the Command wolf waiting listening to the foot steps of the zoid that encircled him waiting for them to get louder for the approach. Sure enough they got louder and fast too. Drago maneuvered his controls to get his liger moving forward causing it to start to encircle the arena about a zoid length from the edge causing the attack to barely miss its mark.

Drago continued to circle the ring at approximately teh same top speed of a command wolf just so that Drake wouldn't feel quite as out matched even if he knew that the speed of the liger is faster than that of the Command wolf

[Nathan Drake]

The Shield Liger started to run around the ring just like it did before, but this time doing so manage it to dodge Nathan's attack. Nathan just did the same thing he did earlier... just watch the Shield Liger run around... being always on gaurd and hoping that he would not let in an opening. It worked before... lets just hope it would work again.

[Drago]

Drago slowed himself down so that he was going approximately 200 km/h waiting for his opponent to do something. Drago angled his zoid so that he slowly started to close in the gap between him and the Command wolf. The difference in how close the liger was to the Command wolf wouldn't really be noticeable till about his tenth lap. Man this is boring I am tired of always being the one to make the opening move, I am also extremely impatient which makes it hard to wait for my opponent to do anything.
