Sibling Rivalry [CLOSED]

Jagr went on to the lab and did his routine studies. The new zoid was almost ready for construction. Jager didn't want to end up waking up the next morning like he did today, so he gathered some water and misc. supplies and headed out in his Command Wolf. Velvet, like the tag along that she is did just that. Tagged along. Her blue Pteras was already repaired and ready to go. Thanks to Jager, of course. It rose and wooshed out of the hangar gracefully. The controls felt smoother than ever. Jager's magic touch, she surmised. "How's she handling?" Jagr asked through the open channel. The Command Wolf picked up speed and ran at the constant max speed of 290km/h. "She's handling great!" Velvet replied. "Thanks for the repairs. You always know how to make a girl happy." She giggled, breaking through the COM. Always the jokester.

"O.K. enough with the jokes, let's begin!" The Command Wolf turned sharply and headed due east. The Pteras followed, it's targeting system trying to get a lock on the wolf. It was proving more difficult than she had hoped. Jager's knowledge of zoid battle tactics and strategies gave him the upper hand. He maneuvered the wolf from left to right and arched after every couple of seconds. It was way too difficult for the Pteras to get a lock on a zoid with that sort of eratic movement. Brother sure knew his stuff. The wolf arched once more like it did before but this time it continued running toward the Pteras continuing it's movements. The Pteras ired it's cannons but they just wouldn't hit the wolf. "I have to get closer!" The blue dino plunged down until it was no less than 20 meters off the ground. It fired it's guns. A green streak of energy projectiles shot through the dirt heading in a straight line toward the wolf.

Seconds fom impact the wolf simply side-stepped the pojectiles and jumped at the Pteras, clawing it's underbelly with it's Strike Claws. The Pteras tumbled in the air but quickly leveled and climbed the skies once more. "You'll experience those kind of evasive maneuvers when fighting high-level pilots." Jager said. His oice boke through the COM in Velvet's cockpit. "The key is to follow their movements and figure out their pattern." He stopped his wolf and headed due West, allowing the Pteras to chase after it. "And if you can't figure out their pattern you can change yor approach but so predictably like you did now. Getting closer for a better shot allowed me an even better shot at you. Lure your opponent into a trap; mae him think he has the upper hand. Then, when he isnt expecting it, change your appoach and strike!"

The wolf sped to it's max speed once more and started firing on the blue zoid with it's AZ double-barreled cannon. The Pteras continued on it's flight path, unaffected by the two projectiles. Of course, Jager knew it was going to be inaffective but it was a good idea to keep Velvet's confidence up. "Good job. You knew my cannons were medium-ranged and they wouldn't reach you up there." Jager said praising her for her awareness. "What are you going to do? You can't beat me by staying up there." The Pteras dove and fired it's cannons repeatedly. The wolf evaded the attackes and fired it's cannons as the blue blur finished it's run. One of the shots struck it's left wing, sending it into another tumble motion from which it recovered once more. "You can't simply continued on in a straight line after your pass. It will be too easy for the enemy to lock onto you." Jager instructed. "You need to climb back up as soon as you can and turn in another direction."

The Pteras spun and performed a loop, positioning itself back due East and with the wolf in her sights. "What?!" Velvet smiled and fired! The Wolf side-stepped out of the way but it was hit on the back legs. The zoid lurched from side to side and then tumbled. "Nice one." Jager said. She changed her approach and caught him in her trap. What a smart girl. It seemed she was learning after all. And pretty fast too. "Okay, Viru that's enough for today. Lets head back." The two zoids headed back to the base side by side at a steady pace.
